Re: British Open

I was doing plenty trading in running and down the closing stretch had Poulter as my only -ve and was looking dodgy esp after he birdied 16 and was on green in two on 17, but what a closing 6 holes from Pod - deffo the best player over the 4 days. Nice one Snods

Re: British Open

Anyone help me please? I had a bet in a Wiliam Hill office on the top American, top European and top GB and Ireland player, doing win doubles and an each-way treble and threw away my betting slip when I saw in the shop on friday evening that two of the players I had were no longer listed in the outright betting.

Well it turns that I THINK..and only THINK... that I ended up with all the three getting a place. Only I'm not sure.

Does anyone know if William Hill were doing 1-2-3-4 for their best European etc markets? And if so, how does it get calculated if, for example in the case of GB and Irish players, your player came joint fourth?

I know I'll need to submit a form, replicate the slip for them and give them some ID if I am due something back so I really would appreciate it if any of you guys could let me know if it would be worth doing it!

Many thanks

Rinse

Re: British Open

Hi R&R - can't give you any definitive answers I'm afraid, but I'll do my best.

From the results section it looks like:

Top US winners

Furyk J
Stricker S
Kim A
Curtis B

So that could be 1-2-3 or 1-2-3-4 as Kim and Curtis were tied.

Top European winners

Stenson H
Karlsson R
Van De Velde J
Havret G
Jacobson F
Hansen A
Noren A

Again, could be just 1-2-3 or 1-2-3-4 as VDV - Noren were tied.

Top GB and Ire

Harrington P
Poulter I
Wood Chris
Howell D
Casey P

That's deffo 1-2-3-4 as Howell and Casey were joint 4th.

My guess would be that all were 1-2-3-4.

On the joint finishers question, you'll probably get dead heat rules on your selections(so if you have someone finishing tied 4th with 1 other player, you'll get 1/2 stake x place odds...if tied with 3 others, you'll get 1/4 stake x place odds etc etc.)
