Re: British Open

I have gone for a match bet Ernie Els to beat Phil Mickelson.
Personally i don't believe that Ernie is the force he once was, recently he has been reinforcing his image as the Big Easy, but he has an outstanding record at The Open.
I like Phil Mickelson, but even with his wonderful short game he is no Links player.

Considering the differences between a typical US Tour event and conditions at The Open the record of US players is really quite amazing, and as good as Anthony Kim et al are I cannot see a winner along the lines of Ben Crane or Todd Hamilton this year.

In 14 years of the British Open, Els has finished in front of Phil 14 times. This is one of the better Match bets (and amazed the books still offer this)
Would take - Pampling to beat Villegas
Allenby to bt Kim

both with Stan James
