Andalucia Open

Going to place (lose) 10pts per tournament on golf.

Looking back at last years tournament, it seems you want a player with a pretty basic game - ie, get the ball on the green, and putt it as quickly as possible. Obviously this sounds obvious, as that's the point of gold, but there are some course which are all about driving, and this is not one of them.

Anyway, my selections are as follows (based on the above and current form)

Lee Westwood 5pts win @ 9/1 (general price)
Joost Luiten 1pt e/w (1/4, top 5) @ 50/1 (general price)
Hennie Otto 1pt e/w (1/4, top 5) @ 50/1 (general price)
Matthew Millar 0.5pts e/w (1/5, top 6) @ 300/1 (betfred)

Re: Andalucia Open

Gl Dave - this is one of the target golf events from the Euro tour season - not many tough holes on this one, altho the wind is blowing a little today so there are a few more bogies than expected.

Not sure about Westie - he just can't seem to string 4 good rounds together like he used to and someone's gonna need 4 rounds in the 60s to win this one, though I like the Luiten/Otto picks. They are both young guys and complete headcases (esp Otto) but this is the type of tourney where being a headcase will pay off - not much to penalise the erratic, attacking golfer.

Don't know much about Matt Millar, but a good start from him today, -2 through 3.

Cheers Beanie. Can't say I know much about any of the players, just gone on the stats. Millar now -3 thru 4 and top of the leaderboard, so at least I've had my moment of glory even if he falls apart now

Re: Andalucia Open

Hi lads,

I've been using my own hi-tech system on golf since last summer. That was when I put down the first ever bet of my life (any sport) and the bugger came in, Harrington.

Since then I always back him and do a lot of BIG 6/7/8 against the fields, and have a look at whoever seems to be in form.
Had a look at Olgivy last WE but decided against it at the last minute

This field seems far too open imo.
I've only one bet down, Mc Ilroy ew @ 80/1

Good luck

Re: Andalucia Open

Great start for you yesterday Dave(and for McIroy) - none of the early starters are making much of an impression today, McIlroy unable to build on 1st round, so Westwood looks superbly placed to extend his lead today.

The immediate chasing pack are very inexperienced - I'd expect Millar, Willet and Larsen to go backwards today (its amazing what an evening thinking about being near the top of a Euro tour leaderboard can do) and I'll be surprised if Westwood isn't 2+ clear this evening. The real dangers look to be lurking a bit further back - expecting to see Cevaer get into things today.

Re: Andalucia Open

Typical Luiten I guess. Typical Westwood today as well - he did this a few months ago as well - stormed into lead, and then in same/better conditions can't make himself any chances. Strange player these days

Will do my 3rd round punts in my tipster proofing thread later on this evening.
