Re: US Open 2007
Was watching for the last few hours tonite and Rose finished superbly(minus one dodgy drive at the last.) Happy with that bet still.
Most others look dodgy now - Fasth was cruising before a couple of terrible short putts, not out of it(same for Toms) but will need an extraordinary day tomorrow.
Did a bit of trading in and out of Tiger so I'm not looking too bad should he win, but I'm gonna reconsider in the morning - its the form he showed today vs the fact he hasn't won when behind as you say.
I don't think Badders will win - when it comes to the crunch he'll do very well to keep his game together at the head of the field with Tiger beside him given his inexperience...can see him sinking fairly early.
Casey, Rose and Furyk prob the men who could take it to Tiger tomorrow - should be exciting anyway.

Re: US Open 2007
Ive been perusing the stats etc etc and Stephen Ames @ 20/1 is the man who is getting my money to win going into the final day. Currently lying on +5. Hes level with Casey and Rose who are both 14/1 yet he is the one with the most experience and a big American win under his belt (The Players Championship in 2006, dubbed 'The 5th major'). I rate him more likely to win than either of those 2 players. He is the most likely player to win imo outside of the obvious Tiger/Baddeley combo and as I think both of those are too short in the odds, Ames must contain value at 20/1.
Ive seen parts of his play and he has the accuracy and putting ability to go under par tomorrow (fired a 69 in his 2nd round) and anyone behind Tiger will have to go round in par or better tomorrow I think to overtake him. Thats why I wouldnt look at anyone worse than +5 to win, they just have too much ground to make up on Tiger to make it a realistic thing.
A lot depends on how Baddeley copes with the tension of going round in the final pairing with Tiger. He has shot 72, 70, 70 and if he keeps that form no one bar Tiger will catch him simple as that really. Its a big ask though for the young dude and at 3/1 im not taking him when he has to pair up with Tiger and all the pressure that goes with that. Since he has played the course better than anyone else so far its worth looking at his odds in running perhaps as he does bogey and birdie a lot and his odds will lengthen considerably if Tiger gets to within 1 shot of him.

Re: US Open 2007
FWIW I actually got 21/1
The only other player id consider backing would be Casey but I wanted 20/1 or more. Ill keep me eye on it tomorrow evening and I would back it at that price if it just randomly went 20/1 and the state of play hadnt changed anything much. Not at 14/1 though. I want 20s not excuses.
p.s I hope thats the end of Angel Cabreras challenge ater todays 76, dont want that Argentinian biting me in the arse

Re: US Open 2007
none of my selections made the cut so i did not have an interest yesterday ,i've decided to have an interest bet today and with the bookies offering e.w. at 1/5 1,2,3 , if placed my small bet on betfair.
After seeing Watson make that triple bogey to put him at -5 I can see him being a danger so my bets are :
Winner Watson @42
Top 5 finish Watson @3.75
p.s. anyone with the guts to play with a pink driver must have a chance

Re: US Open 2007
Fair play to Cabby - playing superbly. Does have a dodgy temperament tho - one bogey and it could all fall apart, but at the moment its his to lose.

Re: US Open 2007
Just when it looked all over, the two leaders are letting Woods back into it.

Re: US Open 2007
Tiger will par the 16th and birdie the 17th to get level I reckon.

Re: US Open 2007
Well that's job 1 done O - 17 is the realistic chance for Woods...Boom a driver up to the green, maybe even settle for a bunker up there and try and get up and down. After all this week Tiger is now back to odds he started the week at at nearly 4s - Cabs 1.35.

Re: US Open 2007
Cabrera wins - ouch! No damage for the week and was always gonna lay him off after 2nd round but still, to think I was on the winner at 270 at one point - sore one muze!

Well fcuk me im absolutely disgusted by that. He deserved it so fair play to him as an individual(as the only player to shoot sub 70 twice) but god dammit thats a sick beat
That would have paid for my vegas holiday, fcuk
