Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

I agree with Alien about Freerolls actually. I only ever play them if it's one of the £5,000+ ones otherwise it's not worth playing them.

As a learning tool they're ok to teach people the basics, however the play is so loose it could do you more harm in your development as a player as it does good.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

I'd wait till you've been dealt at least 1000 hands, at least. Preferably alot more. 343 is not alot of hands really. Remember you'll get AA once every 221 hands. Statistically you should only have been dealt it once and it'd be quite likely to have never been dealt it all. 343 isn't enough hands to give you ac accurate breakdown of your play really.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

Yeah ok, just wondering at roughly what percentage they should be at. Ill update at a 1000. These are only freerolls so this is obviously a problem. I play a lot different in live games and i never play with 10 people.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

I would be expecting you to fold a lot more pre flop. You're paying to see over 50% of the flops.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

Thats the thing though, ive only seen 29% of the flops yet it says ive folded only 50% of the time. That doesnt add up.

My percentage of wins when flops seen is impressive at 1/3rd of the time. Especially as im with 10 players.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

No right.......you pay to see 29% of the flops right. So once in three times almost you will see a flop.

When you fold, 45.97% of your folds are pre-flop. You rest of the percentage of you folding is made up folding after the flop etc.

Say once you had seen a flop, you went all in every time.

Your fold percentage would then be 100% pre-flop as you never folded any other time

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

the number of hands you win isn't the important thing - it is which hands you win.

As for the figures - if you are playing 50% of hands, its way too many. Even 29% is high-ish.

If it is 29% and you are winning 34%, then thats about what one would expect - 34% of 39% is around 10% - what you would expect at a 10 handed table.

If it is 50%, then you are seeing only half the flops. You are also only playing through (i.e. not folding) 8% of hands - and you're not going to win all of them. Even if you win 6%, then those 6% have to cover all your blinds, all the calls (blinds or more) you made to see those 50% of flops, all the bets you called before folding, and the remaining showdowns.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

I'll give you a breakdown of the stats more thoroughly when I get a chance. Am playing poker myself atm. I've run into about 4 sets and am currently getting stuffed.

Re: How Do You Do At Online Poker?

OK first of all, different stats apply to different games. What I mean is, your stats should be different at a full ring game with 10 players, than it would with just a 6 player or less table.
I'm assuming the stats you have provided are for full ring with 8+ players aye ? Also I'd wait tonnes more before you read into them too deeply.
Another thing stats can be misleading, there is no definite percent that you should be playing, you have to alter your play to suit the style of the game you are in. Your stats in an extremely tight game of good players would be different to an extremely loose game with bad players. You can only use them as guides.

Flops seen 29% - That could be a touch on the high side for ring games.
But like I say that's only based on a few hundred hands, nowhere near enough. It also doesn't take into account the style of the game or the quality of opponents.
Showdowns won 47% - I think that's a bit low. You should be winning over half the showdowns you stay to.

I don't really wanna go into too much detail as that's not nearly enough hands to be statiscally significant. I wouldn't get too bogged down with stats at the moment. Concentrate on cutting things out like junk calls Q6 etc and hoping to get lucky. Make sure you don't let frustration alter your game.
Have a read about tournament strategy, don't just take my word for it, get a whole load of other people's views as well. Obviously you wanna be constantly watching your own play and analysing it to try and improve.
But things can be misleading. Say there was an ideal percentage to call with pre-flop and you did......... you could be calling with all the wrong hands in the wrong positions. It's not quite as simple as how often should I be calling etc if you see what I mean ?
