Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

I don't think the way you played that hand deserves to be on this thread Wazik. It's not that bad.

I would say the worst play in your hand was when you made such a weak raise pre flop / checked / and then weak raised. I would have been betting $1.50 - $2.00 here. The blinds were $0.15 / $0.30 I'm guessing right? I hate QQ as it is so easily outdrawn by A, K especially if it is cheap on the flop. Normally you don't have to multiply the BB by so much but on lower stakes tables I think you do as so many players are calling stations.

After the flop you can only be behind to KK or KQ. I don't think your call at showdown time is too bad as I don't have a read on what this player was doing before this hand. You have to be worried about KK, KQ, K2 or K5 as it was your inaction pre flop, after the flop and on the turn that saw you get burnt here.

That said when it did come to showdown I would have called too. QQQKK is still a very strong hand and you would have every right to think you might be just facing KKKxx - but like I say I don't know how this guy was playing previously.

Slow playing can be a bitch.

Let's see what the more knowledgeable players think.

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

Wazik, this definititely doesnt qualify for this thread. All the money was going in no matter what here. Its not even a case of a bad slowplay as he was calling any bet at any point.

I would only have issue with your check on the flop and weak bet on the turn, Not because your allowing him to outdraw you as he was always going to call but because you wouldnt be extracting as much money as I think you could here. Bet your big hands big, a better way to slowplay IMO can be to put a weak bet, smaller than that of your raise pre flop in rather than just checking.

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

Aye some good points made here.

All the money was going in no matter what here
This is very true and worth mentioning although obviously it does matter when the money went in as well without a doubt. For example if youd got it all in on the flop then you would have been straight unlucky to lose.

Yeah the pre flop raise was too small. If I raise with a big pair it will ALWAYS be 4bb as a minimum. Once youve hit that flop it does qualify for a slowplay. Doesnt HAVE to be slowplayed but it could be, a flopped full house can definitely be slowplayed.

You should probly bet a bit more on the turn but you know the guy could be drawing dead on you here for all you know, you do have a massive hand. |I wouldnt have given it up on the river either so there was nothing wrong with that imo. He could have trip Kings or had 22 or 55 for a lower full house just as much as he could have a hand that beats you.

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

hmm, I dunno if think if I had put a large bet on the flop he woulda mucked it, maybe not but it would have been much better to find out

My cash shoulda have been in earlier and if he folds then I win something at least

Believe me Wazik, a guy who calls a raise with K5o is NEVER going to lay down his hand on that flop

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

Don't have the hand history but for some reason i refused to put down pocket queens even after seeing a king on the turn. Lost $60 to a guy with pocket kings. I had placed him on a high pocket pair and the king should have been my cue to fold but I thought fuck it and threw another $30 in. Played very badly and by shaming myself I hope to learn something from it.

Nice to get paid like that though

Just horrible play. Every single brain cell was screaming put them down and walk away!! Unfortunatley I was already down a bit and was in the mindset that I wanted to take down a big pot. So whilst knowing I should click fold the pointer edged ever closer to all in!

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

Heres some more late night Friday low limit play for you. This guy "Kingclub" was drunk at the table and as a suffering alcoholic it was only fair to relieve him of the money in which he usually uses to purchase alcohol. Either that or cause him to sink further into the depths of despair, either ways good.

--- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to I_STACK_U [Ks Kc] Im in the bigblind

Angavar: raises to £1
Jackhammr: calls £1
cvarfis: folds
Bill112 sits back
KINGCLUB: calls £1
Wick32: folds
Vendel: folds
I_STACK_U: raises to £5 (wanted to isolate the drunk really but jackhammr wanted some flop action )
Angavar: folds
Jackhammr: calls £4
KINGCLUB: calls £4

----- FLOP ----- [5d 2d Js]

I_STACK_U: bets £15
Jackhammr: folds
KINGCLUB: calls £15 (leaves himself a massive £1.09 at the back, surely he has a monster!)

----- TURN ----- [5d 2d Js][4h]

I_STACK_U: bets £1.10
KINGCLUB: is all-in £1.09

----- RIVER ----- [5d 2d Js 4h][4s]

----- SHOW DOWN -----
I_STACK_U: shows [Ks Kc] (Two Pairs, Kings and Fours, Jack high)
KINGCLUB: shows [Tc 9h] (A Pair of Fours, Jack high)
I_STACK_U collects £45.78 from Main pot

No hand, no pair and no draw. Id like to dedicate this to Friday night drunks everywhere, bless your little beer stained inebriated socks

Re: I AM A DONKEY THREAD

I think you're all going to like this one. In my defence the guy had been playing some of the worst poker I've ever seen, not quite as bad as mine in this hand though. He refused to put down any hand, the first hand he bought in for he lost 50 to me when he pushed all in with nothing on the flop and I called with top pair top kicker.God, I really don't want to post this hand. The shame of it all
