Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

Fcuk sake. For some reason mermaid wouldn't gimme the hand history for this hand. It was 20 min ago, maybe thats why. It's a 25/50c cash game

I'm big blind with 6h 7h, someone raises 2xBB, 4 callers, I limp in (love suited connectors btw).

Flop Ah6c7c. Great! Small blind checks. I bet twice the pot. Get called by the guy immmediately to my left, everyone else folds. I'm thinking '4 callers: someone could have trips or maybe a flush draw with top pair, but not another 2 pair as who would call with A6 or A7?'

So turn comes 6s. Superb, got any flush draw beaten and any trips. I bet 2/3 of the pot hoping to keep the guy on my left in. He calls.

River is a 10d. I decide to bet the pot (thats an all-in from me). If he's stayed this long surely he'll call that. He calls and turns over 8 9 for his straight!

$98 pot. I mean I figure I played this hand as perfectly as I could but who can count on idiocy like that to keep chaseing?

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

Ok got the hand history for this one, party poker's hand history's are huge so I'll edit it down a wee bit. Got a question though, was I right to keep calling. I figured one of them flopped a flush since its low limits and a lot of low limit players like to see the flop with suited hole cards. But I figured I only need to pair the board or hit my quads to win and although I may not have had the pot odds for each call, the implied odds were huge.

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

God that flops a fucking hazard isnt it, dont forget the straight there also with Q10 could be the bitch. Your min raise on the flop was a bit suspect I dont really know why you did that but after this you suspect your behind and rightly so. You have to try to fill up and nice one realising that fact.

You were getting the odds do so due to the small bets, how come you dont think you were getting the right odds? Its roughly 6/1 for the turn and 4/1 for the river. Your right your implied odds are huge also but the pot odds were there too. All there was is little minimum raising going around. The danger is though that if the board pairs with the K or J that a KJ actually fills to a full house as well and you get screwed. However due to the absence of a big raise at any time youd have to think the 2 pair wasnt about. Even if it were tho the running 3s will sort that one out

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

You did well losing the minimum amount there muse.
If he had pot bet the turn instead of a small bet would you have shoved all your chips in come the river ?

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

I check/call til the end there but I do call any bet including an all in yep. Theres no way im left wondering what he holds, I was going to see it. I had him on QQ or J10 from the start btw but I cant fold my hand no way. I thought about check raising all in at the river cos the J10 hits the straight and I will get paid off certainly but my spidey sense was tingling.

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

How you didnt lose all your chips then muse I will never know, surely you should of! You deserve a nobel peace award for that.

I just played this hand, it prety much plays itself but its a lesson in why you should very rarely slowplay on cash tables, never miss an opportunity of a betting round.

A Loose aggresive player in the small blind makes up the big blind to me, he has 3 buy ins. I have KK.

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

Well played Chris, it is correct that you should hardly ever slowplay all the but the biggest of hands in cash games.

Yeah if the flop comes with 2 of a suit I re-raise on the flop probably which could have spelled a stacking but the rainbow flop lets me play the other streets with less fear of draws. Dunno what to say about it really, probably should lose my stack but when the spidey sense tingles you gota trust it! Plus I always watch out for the min raising mofos.

Re: I PLAYED THIS HAND PERFECTLY THREAD

Just started playing at Pacific, they dont seem to have text hand histories but they actually replay the hand like a little movie showing you the table exactly as it was. Quite amusing but a bit time comsuming if ya just want a quick look.
Anyway....

I am dealt 6s7s.
everyone folds to me I call, small blind completes and the big blind checks.
flop comes 9d Qh 8h, sb bets 0.25, bb raises to 0.75, I call so does the bb.
turn is 5c making my straight.
sb checks, bb bets $1, I raise to $4, sb re-raises to $7, bb folds, I plop em all-in (about $22ish), he calls.

River is a blank and he shows his pocket aces

Hardly a work of genius, played itself really but it does raise something I have been wondering for a while. I have seen a lot of folks on low limit tables not raising pre-flop with big hands such as AA/KK etc.
I can think of one occasion when I got stacked cos of this as when the guy flipped over aces I was stunned, really didnt see it coming but on tables like this when its not unusal to see 6 or 7 players on the flop its madness. Must just be novicie players who think slowplaying is the way to go. Long may it continue
