OK as you probably already know, "the nuts" is the best hand possible with the cards available. A flop of 9 6 2 non-suited , the nuts ? 99 of course.
After the nuts there is of course the second nuts. This is the second best hand available. In the above example the second nuts would be 66.
Recognising the nuts is of course something you should do every hand.
It of course frequently changes from the flop to the river.
Whilst it's always very nice to have the nuts unfortunately you can't just bet the nuts, you don't get them often enough. Alot of your most profitable pots are likely to be ones where you don't have the nuts.
The object of this exercise is to make sure you recognise what the best possible hand is.
The question I want to know which 2 hole cards would give you A - The nuts and B - The second nuts. You
It shouldn't be too hard but I'll do my best to try and catch you out.
Letters after numbers indicate suits. If none indicated assume not relevant.
The hands maybe 3,4 or 5 cards. Hence representing various stages of the game.
Edit: I should probably also state, you can use the same cards for both the 1st and 2nd nuts. In first hand it's pretty obvious nuts is QQ, but for second nuts you can also use a queen in the answer even though if someone had QQ you obviously wouldn't be able to have one as well.
Hand 4 is right, the nuts would be Ace spades king spades giving you a royal flush 10JQKA of spades. The second nuts would be 9 spades King spades giving you a straight flush 9TJQK spades.
Sorry missed this post kiko. You managed to copy beanie and christanu's posts well though
Just kidding.
hand 3 the nuts is Jh Kh giving a straight flush 9TJQK in hearts.
The second nuts is also a straight flush but 89TJQ in hearts.
To make this straight flush you only need to have the jack of hearts in your hand as the other 4 you need are already on the board. Your second card here is irrelevant.
