Ideas for Poker Forum

Okay folks, Komp has already asked but I'm asking again.

We are looking for input from the members who frequent the poker forum.

Since it changed what do you like, what do you dislike? What would you change ie: add or remove?

It is you who spend your time here so it would be good to know what would make it a better experience.

Ideas like the one mentioned earlier by Komp of a where I'm playing forum, maybe a live poker forum (we may need a few more members joining us, or getting out and about to add this one)

Feel free to tell us what you want.

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

Good stuff dan thanks. As you know i just move things about to suit what i think's right. I would rather you all just moved things about to suit and then i wont have to move things about. I put the news back up under gen chat Dan as it could encourage some 'gen chat' ideas and thoughts.

ps the poker names thingy should hopefully be installed tonight so that will help

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

Live poker forum sounds good. Perhaps less segregation in some of the subforums. For example, General poker chat and poker news can merge and put 'all other games' in one forum(?)

But yeah i'm all for this live AS IT HAPPENS SNIZZ

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

just a wee bit Dan. It was just an idea i had. Basher told me to do it

Prob is Scottie the poker news is just news feeded in from poker sites (new sources always req ) Im sure we couldnt have them in with everything else. Up to you all though. I though Gen chat was more just talkign about things in the news and about anything to do with poker. Feel free to reply to the news threads tho and someone can move the thread in.

Other Games in one forum i would have to agree with although it pains me to say it Scotty. I suppose there's just not the interest

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

What we offer to potential new members of our forum? Nothing.

I joined this poker forum because I was already a member of TDP, I was betting on football and it was just a moment of boredom that forced me to browse the other parts of the forum, Rejmak joined because I invited him here , there was few more lost souls over the past year or so but they came and gone. The simple fact is that this poker forum offers only a nice place to chat or post your bragging rights, except few poker articles we have nothing to offer here

What I would change here Dan/komp? My idea is to have our own tdppoker library, you know komp how important are all those videos you watched on pokerbay, there are many other over there in the internet ( from pxf or cardrunners), there are books in audio format and many different but usefull stuff like software etc... . Creating our library, updating it and discussing the contents would be a step forward to get some new members in and would definetely increase a level of our poker skills

Thats a terrible attitude Kris and not one you should harbour in anything. What do we offer them? We offer them our knowledge on what we know. We aint stupid men and there are also some very good players amongst us. Rome wasnt built in a day and it certainly wouldnt be built if all we have is 1 forum of mish mash and chatter. This approach does not encourage people to learn and we would be as well just not bothering having a poker forum if thats the way it is Kris. We are able to succede in what we are doing and thats providing people with a place that they can come on the net and get friendly advice from folks that they know. Having one forum doesnt work for a million reasons Kris and sadly it will not do. Especially as some days we dont get a post in there for days. It's shite thats what it is and im sorry.

ah you agree Kris sorry

The library i like Kris and maybe i could look at making the Poker Article software work for it. I could work on ways to reconstruct whatever the paid sites are offering and we can categorise it all. It will be our own stuff as poker knowledge is genral knowledge and as long as we write it ourselves we'll be ok.

The strategy forums are supposed to be just that in a forum effect. There's plebnty enough for foilks to offer and folks will come. We just need to be ready for it.

Yes, I did that the other day, the one about Vicky Coren had replies so I moved it up into the Gen Poker chat.

Feel free to comment on any that need moving up to Chat.

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

Kris' post on a library holds true, also I think it'd be good if there's an always open cash/STT private table open on a regularly used site by everyone, so all can pop in and play as and when they want. It was done around this time last year on bet365 (Prima), but a few guys either objected or couldn't play on there.

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

Funny enough Scottie i should have it sorted with Bet365 for a weekly private mtt with enhanced prize money. shall i mention to them having a private cash room?

Im all for making up some poker tutorials (blantently ripped from elsewhere) or even better if someone could supply us wiuth the titles of these videos we could all write them between us. i dont know much but i'm good at 'tracing' The videos would have an article section with people able to ask questions below

Re: Ideas for Poker Forum

The weekly private MTT would be good, but would everyone want to play on bet365? That's the only stumbling block I could see. Should we have a vote somewhere on it?

At the end of the day if that's where the free money is then that is where we will have to go. I for one won't be chasing Virgin or Sportingbet again for tournies as I felt I was bashing my head against the wall with folks in here and I'm not even the affiliates person. I'm leaving that up to komp.
