Flopped Set
I think I played this hand pretty well personally, any comments though would be welcome, should I have done anything different? Like re-raise his flop bet? Also, what did he have? Would anyone have laid it down pre flop after the x6 raise? Basically I knew I had to hit and thought the value was worth a look.

Re: Flopped Set
Hi there
5 handed i'm raising with 77 pre-flop, make 2 or 2.50 to go here. The limp/call is ok as the table is deep in chips.
Flop, please raise. You want value here and it's very perceivable that A has hit him as well.
Turn is quite nasty but a call is ok here as played.
River shove is quite sexy though. As long as he's not tricky, this I like a lot
As for his hand, i'm along the lines of a big A, prob AQ,AK, maybe with K/Qc. Might be 55 as well though.

I'd hate to see my 77 reraised Scottie (for example x3) , would you call then?

Agree 100% with kris, these short handed games are normally very agressive, so, my idea was that I wanted to see the flop for as little as possible bearing in mind I know I need to hit. A pre flop raise from me with a mid pair would only have the AK guy bumping in a big re-raise which then gives me a tough decision with the most likely outcome being that I need to lay it down. Still think I did the right thing pre flop, my only doubt was that with the turn bringing very realistic straight/flush possibilities I should probably have raised before I did, like on the flop then turn..

Re: Flopped Set
arguments both ways pre-flop. I think generally I'd prefer the limp-call. With 2 callers of the raise you HAVE to call, your implied odds easily justify it. Folding would be terrible.
I don't re-raise the flop bet. I have position and I want to keep him involved. He is VERY unlikely to have the flush draw given that the Ace is on board. Similarly you can rule out him having the straight draw. You might be worried about the others having such a hand, but when they fold you don't want to scare the original raiser away. Raising the flop bet here screams you have trips.
Turn is ok- I might try a small raise here though. I'm leery of someone with say KK, QQ, JJ, TT with a single club hiting the last club on the river.
Given your play on the turn, I like the river bet. Poor call by him though I'd suggest. What hands could he realistically be beating?

Fold it unless you are very deep in chips ie. around 150+bb. Raising pre-flop with 77 is good for your image as well as it widens your range. Yesterday I 4bet shoved 79dd primarily for metagame reasons.

I think a turn raise is meh. Not sure it's the correct street to get value on.
