Less Than 6 Weeks To Go...

...till xmas.

I know its mid November but ive still had it in my head not to worry as xmas is a long way away but its just around the corner.

Have to admit the older i have got the more i have hated xmas. Never been a fan of shopping for presents, especially when the town is absolutely mobbed and you can hardly move.

I never know what to get anyone either. My mums a nightmare. Every year ive got her a present and she has took it back and got something else.

Argh - not looking forward to it at all.

Anyone one step ahead of us all and got all their shopping done? Anyone like me and will be making a last minute dash on xmas eve for it all?

Komp will have to get his thinking cap on because he's got a girlfriend to buy for (or maybe fiance cause 6 weeks is a long time)

We do all our shopping on one day at the Metro in Newcastle - go down and stay over - it's a pain but it gets it out the road and come 2:30pm'ish I can usually be found in the bar

Christmas is great cause it's all about the kids - eldest is getting a gameboy so you know what i'll be looking forward too

No. I'm spending it with the in laws. They're nice and everythign but if I wanted to be surrounded by 7 dogs and three kids under 3 years old I would be breeding (in both senses of the word).

We had a note with our wage slips today saying the xmas club savings money is being payed out next friday. I've been saving 30 a week for the past 12 months :drums It's the first time i've managed to save for it in 6 years, looking forward to it

I don't mnd it but it doesn't seem to be held in the same spirit as it once was, I suppsoe its down to getting older but i think the real reason lies in the fact people want for nothing anymore.

Christmas used to be a time of expectation when you would get glorious things like Tangerines, apples nuts and chocolates , things that you only ever got at chrimbo along with the toys of course.

Now kids get what they want all yr round and Christmas is just a time to get that extra expensive prsent like a game console, try buying a snakes and ladders for ure nipper and see what he does with it

I do enjoy the time off work mind and i usually end up cooking the Christmas dinner for family and friends or whoever is invited and we have a bit of Knees up afterwards, Last yr we booked a cottage away for the first time to try something different.
Me and the wife loved it as it had log fires et all but the kids soon got bored and wanted to come back home, miserable bastards

It's safe Kegman, i've done the mortgage money before but never any Xmas (family) money, there's a couple of hundred for drinks and gambles in there for me though

Time off work and being able to relax is what it's all about for me too slick

No sod bloody mentiioned that did they? I get wreckless and hate myself and everything i stand for at xmas. Usually i just wish i wasnt so unsociallable not greedy for drink and drugs and i coould just be content with sitting in with famnily watching Coronation street and eating chocolates and playing with the nephew. I usuaally apologies and fcuk off to an empty pub full of empty people and feel empty
