Hello all.
Looking back over the past few months I've no idea how this all happened but I've somehow ended up living in Cornwall. I decided to retire last April and enjoy whats left of my life, try some more travelling about doing different jobs where ever I happened to be, things were going well until a fortnight ago when I went and accepted a stupid job. One thing led to another and I've now ended up with a flat aswell.. I only fucking came here to do 2 weeks laboring on a farm... Anyway I'm back in the UK and staying here for a bit. Prob through the winter before heading to warmer climes, so I!ve 6 months in Cornwall, what does TDP reckon I can get upto about here? I!ve no bloody idea... right now I'm sat by a cliff watching the sea, drinking tropicana and smoking fags, its nice but there must be more to here than this. |

Re: things to do in Cornwall
Online theres loads to do, most of it looks a bit predictable and boring (historic mines, coastal walks, 'extreme' sports etc)
where do i go to take lsd with druids or kill harmless farmyard animals worshiping the sun...? thats what they do round here aint it theres a few MOD firing ranges up the road i might check them out at some point, i love that stuff |

Ive been all over Cornwall Spacecat, North coast mainly, its nice. What part you in? Dont think they like gambling too much down that way, check out the beaches tho, some fantastic ones. Avoid Newquay.

Re: things to do in Cornwall
I've spent many a family holiday down there and as far as I can tell, the usual pastimes down there are surfing, fishing and sleeping with your relatives.
I remember being distinctly disappointed by lands end. Ooooh look, there's a sign saying "Lands End" and over there is where the land ends and the sea starts - that's not something you get in every coastal town. Oh yes, I remember now, it is isn't it? |

those were roughly my thoughts on lands end aswell, bit of sea and some rocks and that ye oldey-ist of english traditions, a shopping center and hotel complex... the rest of cornwall is 'nice' in quite a boring english way so far, lots of quaint seaside towns complete with bearded scrumpy drinking tramps and fat kids called sophia or johnny playing with horses. ive asked a few people now whats good round here, most people tell me to go walk the cliffs i did that and yeah that was actually quite nice for a while but thats it i think.the best laugh ive had since ive been here was actually on the bank holiday weekend, i ended up in truro with a couple of guys from work for a drink, they had a gay pride parade of all things so the place was jumping. sadly for the local quoir trying to sing at the cathedral, there were loads of these topless muscley blokes dancing to that stupid cher lloyd song, the choir threw them some disaproving glances but i didnt care, i thought it was funny. was a good weekend but i had to keep using the toilet in the bookies, im more than tolerant but i wasnt sure about the queer lot joining me for a slash every 2 seconds. into september now, im told the tourists fuck off every year after august, its a shame as the cornish are all retarded cunts. As for avoid newquay.. its one of the few places ive been thats had some life about it, was a bit council estatish for my liking but at least they aint zombies. im in truro now Jezza, they fucking love gambling round here, theres loads of racetracks just up the road,im actually working in a bookies for a bit for pocket money and im learning all the time, weird bunch.. they love a punt |
