Enjoyed the boxing movie Cinderella Man with russell crowe. True story as well which makes it even better.

what else, the prep talk in Hoosiers as mentioned already.......

"The replacements" American football movie about a team of scabs playing instead of the first choice team as they are on strike. Starring gene hackman again + a plank of wood, the plank of wood is understandable.
Actually the plank of wood is in another movie about coaching kids baseball in a ghetto, forget the name and couldnt be arsed finding out but its not bad. alright I had a look its called Hard Ball.

lets see any others come to mind.....Coach Cater Samuel L Jackson basketball movie....... another one comes to mind called the basketball diaries with leo di caprio and again its a true sad story....
