Re: M/soft Word question
Okay, next question, same format. I'm being asked to have double spaces on the manuscript, now theres some debate as to what that means, but I read it as simply double spaced words. How do I do that if its curently single spaced ??

Re: M/soft Word question
For page numbering, not sure about Word 2007, but guess it will be similar to 2003 - go to Insert in the menu bar at the top, you should have an option there called Page numbers or something similar (sorry, mine's in Spanish, so don't know the exact names of all the options).
For the double spacing, if it's double spacing between each word, I guess you could do a search and replace, the same as you did for "&" and "and", searching for all single spaces and replacing them with a double space. Only possible problem with that is if you've used spaces at any time for anything other than gaps between words (i.e. using about 20 spaces to centre a title instead of using the tabs or centring the text automatically, that kind of thing). Alternatively, could they not mean double line spacing? |

Re: M/soft Word question
Double line spacing is where the confusion comes in. I read it as 2 spaces between words, whereas my old man, whos a printer, reckons hes never neard of that & reckons its about the presentation aspect
![]() I'm pretty certain that I'm right tbh as I think its for ease of reading for publishers & for space for amendments |

Obviously not the same thing, I know, but at university I always had to submit coursework with double line spacing. Anyway, if it is double line spacing, in Word 2003 all you do is select the text you want to have double line spacing, then right-click, select Paragraph, then there should be a section called Spacing, in the Inter-line bit, choose Double. Again, not sure if those are the exact names of the options in English. Or indeed whether that'll work in Word 2007. |

I've come to the conclusion that I'm pretty certain that I dont know what I'm talking about & I was totally wrong. It might have been the fact that I was beginning to be outnumbered around 6 to 1 that did it ![]() The book is finished, Slick, yes. i'm currently editing it & I've just completed the spell checking which I left to the end & will never do again ![]() The sequel is in the pipeline imminently. I have potentially the harshest proofreader that you can find & I'm awaiting a verdict on the last part now which'll be some time next week I would think. A lads girlfriend at work also has a copy which shes reading which is good as I've never met her. A girl at work read the dodgy scene which she said was mild, then read the sex scene & went bright red she said she didnt think I had it in me which I wasnt really sure how to take tbh ![]() Winrews read a bit as well, but hes only had the first part so far. I'm pretty happy with it tbh & Ive achieved what I set out to do which was finish the fcuking thing |
