Info needed for Kilmarnock area please

I know a lot of people on here komp, axeman etc are from the West Coast and was wondering if anybody could give a wee bit info about the Kilmarnock area.

A friend of mine is going to be working at Crosshouse Hospital and they need to rent a flat etc etc and the flats they have in mind so far are in Stewarton.

Can you advise if this is a decent area and if there is a good bus service between the hospital and the Stewarton area ?

Any other info would be greatly received

Right Keggers, I don't think there is a direct bus service between Stewarton and Crosshouse, really your friend would be better looking for a flat in Killie, Crosshouse, Springside and maybe Dregorn and Dundonald.
I lived in Dundonald for 6 years and loved it, it's pretty much crime free, but it is a tenner or more for a taxi home from a night out in Killie, same for Dreghorn. I'll PM you my mobbie number and pass it to your friend. There are some poorish areas with a few decent streets, and a few decent areas with some poor streets. The problem with renting is that anything less than 380 quid a month and you don't know what you're going to get for neighbours, as that seems to be the ceiling for DSS or whatever they call it now.

there is a few flats for rent in my street, fullarton st or any about here north hamilton st bonnyton road even up where komp stays in upper bonnyton is fairly good all within a a couple minute walk to a bus stop for the hospital, you could even walk to work in 15,minutes from bonnyton, p.s. i would not stay in stewarton rent free, its a hot bed of hunnery.

i stay 5 mintes from the hossie Kegs and have a spare room. Obviously staying with me aint ideal but i dont mind your pal popping round and having a look

prob best winrew. truth be told i get depressed on how much i pay for my flat and its just me. its 2 bedroom and i dont even use one of them. I would happily do a home swap with the fella in that he can stay at mine and i will move in with his wife

I would tell your pal to defo stay in the town, or bonnyton area..its almost within walking distance of the hospital. The bus service from the town to Crosshouse is very regular.

Tell your pal if she likes karaoke and partying, shes welcome to come out with me, I will be her surrogate mate
