Going Bald

Somebody list the things that can accelerate the balding process to start earlier than it should.

Can rule out a number of diseases, as not all of my hair is falling out, nust noticed a definite thinning around the natural balding spots.

Just wondering if theres a certain type of shower/hair product that'll do it or is possible some kind of nutritional deficiency is accelerating things?

Has the fact I've been shaving my head for 5 years now had an effect? I wouldnt imagine it wouldve as I've never shaved it down to the skin.

Go on.. give me some hope.. theres no other baldies in my family, when my dad and his dad were my age they had full beards and longish hair. Was my mother playing around back in the day?

How old did you start going baldy

Re: Going Bald

I've been in the same boat for years now Spacecat, seems a very slow process with me. Like you, my dad and his dad have/had a full head of hair. When I first started noticing I made some enquiries, and, apparently it comes from the maternal grandfather. So, question is, does your mum's dad also have loads of hair? I'll guess not as my grandfather on my mum's side was well bald in his latter years.

Would never have chosen to be a baldy but to be honest it doesn't bother me in the slightest, not much we can do about it. Have you tried colouring it in with a big permanent marker pen?

And Ed used to go in and slap him on his baldy head every time he visited him so I reckon his pap has come back and is rubbing Ed's head every night when he sleeps so he loses it all the quicker.

Re: Going Bald

It's nothing to worry about.

In my opinion you have two options, have a grade 1 every weeks tokeep things neat and tidy

OR

Stick two fingers up to popular thinking, choose left or right hand side and spend a few months growing yourself a quality sweep over.

I go for option one - the only trouble is if i leave it more that 4 weeks, because my bold patch is a bit of a strange shape, i end up looking like Mr T.
A couple of my Grandad's brothers have just a bit of hair over there ears and round the back of their heads - am sure i am headed in that direction.

Fringes are overrated any how!!

Re: Going Bald

As was mentioned, it's in the genes, from both sides of your family. I've got 3 boys. Two have full heads of hair(29 and 23) the middle one's been losing his since he was 22. This comes from his mother's side, as does the oldest one's premature greying. Also from his mother's side, the balding one has an enormous tadger.

Re: Going Bald

err.. right-o axeman

ive been mulling over it all day, the solution of just shaving it all off isnt a bad one, as ive said ive been down to a number 2 shave since i was 19 (25 now).

although i was getting a little emotional last night, im going to get my hair shaved in preparation for short back and sides tomorrow morning, ive had that once or twice but its never grown that much before ive decided its a waste of money buying gel before just shaving it off. im about a week overdue from my normal shaving, my heed isnt thin enough to look stupid with an attempted haircut just yet.

why am i doing this? itll be the last chance i ever have. by the time this haircut im getting tomorrow grows through in a month or so, it may well be too thin.

im going to have a busy weekend and there will be digital cameras involved, so a couple of snaps of me with a wee bit of hair on my head shall be stored away forever.

being a baldy isnt so bad, just a sham my tadger is only normal sized

Re: Going Bald

Its an Hereditory thing m8, jus dig out some old family photos and look at the fcuker that most resembles you and that normally gives u an idea of what your gonna end up with.

Luckily for me I'm a ringer for the old man and he has a thatch second to none even now when he's touching seventy and only a handfull of grey hairs to boot.

He's got a head the size of a watermelon mind and ginger eyebrows but you have to give aswell as take in this life.

Re: Going Bald

People have told me since i was 11 that i would be bald before i was 25. Im 38 now and although ive had thin hair all my days and a bit of a monkey's arse but i would stll consider myself as a person with hair. It has depressed me a bit in my life though spacecat. Ive always been jealous of people with a good head of hair. Short folks will have the same thing with taller folks etc. Just one of them things.

I don't Axeman but ive a feeling a bad joke is coming our way

Ive the highest forehead of anyone on here i reckon. I too used to have hair there but it all went when i was about 16. It was fluffier hair than the rest of my head but definelty hair and not just fluff

Women do like baldy men Spacecat be it shaved or even just at the sides (young women aint oo kean on the bits at the side though as they dont want to go with a man that looks like their dad) Keep it shaved till you get older. I think folks look cool like that.

Johnny Depp as Hunter s Thompson always looked cool to me
