The Monday Morning Workers Thread

It's great i love Monday mornings. No more weekend. No more expectations. Just back to work and routine with 5 solid days in front of me. The monotouny is almost relaxing and relieving. I've so much lovely work to do i almost don't know where to begin.

What do you all do at your work?

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

I've just spent a couple of hours going through the racecards to pick out the horses which I don't think will be winning today (EASY TARGET and BERE DAVIS, 3.15 Pontefract), and in 90 mins I start working on Betfair at Pontefract.

Not physically tiring but mentally exhausting.

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

was that an extention of the Friday sickie Kop? Make it look more realistic and milk it for what it's worth?

I'm not doing anything Paul. Well thats a lie i actually just clinging on to working at TDP all day every day at the moment. I'm also working in close liason with the Health service regarding my sickness benenifit (i knocked them back for meals and wheels again) and occuring big debts. Theyve caught up with me and their giving me a hard time. It's all gonna fall down soon but i just ignore their letters and continue in my quest to get TDP all set up for the future for when i have to go back to work which is probably at the end of august. I'll keep fighting all the way though and i wont stop till the day comes that their dragging me out of the house. Ive sold everything i own and have nothing left to sell. I'm going nowhere though till all the works done but as i said i'm up against time here. I was supposed to see some social worker regarding my future tomorrow but i phoned them up and put it off another week. It was great as if you really dont care what happens to you you have nothing to lose. As i say i'm just clinging on with no consideration for myself. It's almost art.

I best pop into betfair and see if i can recoup some of my wages now

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

Monday is just another day when you work shifts , all the days seem the same , just got up at 2.00 , nights last night , not a bad sleep , i`m usually up at 12.00.

Off out with the mutt for a bit of fresh air before long , then down to the supermarket for some cans etc for toninght... Pork chops and new tatties for tea ( i`m turning into AFU )
I hate the DJ`s on the radio on a friday , they give it Whoooh Whooh , its the weekend , aye , cheers , its my night shift weekend...

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

I've always done shift work Winrew really when i work. I dont know if i like it or hate it reallt. I suppose i could say the same about the 9-5. Ive never really been a 9-5 man though and i'm well used to anytime of the week being anytime of the week. Pubs on tuesday mornings etc.

Sorry about always going on folks btw about 'the wolves at my door etc' I know it might just be another post to you all about it but it's all very real to me. Most of you would gripe about it to your friends and family but i've chosen not to have any friends or family till i get all this done. right i'll shut up and just get on with it.

Im the same about the DJ's on a friday Winrew. One of the worst for me was a few months ago. I woke up cigless, foodless and with just enough (after searching for coppers) for a pack of cigs at 10:30pm on a friday night. I walked to the pub to get some and the friday night crowd was in. I felt like the man who's fell to earth or more likely 'the man who came out his bedroom' I got my cigs and walked home remembering other Friday nights i had had in life. I think weekends went for me the same day god did.

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

aye weekends make my indifferance to the world all the more apparent to me.

ps i hope it's raining where you live. Bloody working and then enjoying yourselves i dunno

Actually Monday night was always a good night to go for a beer straight from work for me. It was a way of saying that the weekend didnt have to finish etc. When i do barwork monday is usually my night out too. In the snooker club in kilmarnock where i used to work it would be the busiest night of the week. Darts night to start and then karaoke from 9pm (run by yours truely ) till close. All the mothers out with their Monday child benefit books and all the taxi drivers out after their long weekend.

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

Ive done shift work for the last 22/23 years , i don`t think i could handle 9 to 5 anymore.

Im having some cheese and chive dips with breadsticks tonight as well , ive come over all middle class .....
Im not going out tonight as im sulking over the smoking ban , i`ll probably not go in a pub ever again.
Well thats an exageration , i`ll be in on weds night.
Friday nights my fave shift as it means come saturday morning , im off for 10 days...
Except for this time round , because of the holiday period , im not off till late august......

Re: The Monday Morning Workers Thread

Thinking about it Winrew when i say that the smoking ban has stopped me going to pubs i think i am wrong. I think whats stopped me going to pubs is that i got barred from about 3 just before christmas and in all three i dont rememeber leaving the place or being told to go (1 was for stealing drink, another was for slapping an off duty barmaids arse, the third i have no idea as i was jumped upon by the old barman and manhandled out the door without explanation)

Maybe it's all the going outside in the fresh air and then going back in the pub. Maybe its all the 'might as well have a joint as a cig'. I dunno but the smoking ban seems to have ruined my interest in pubs and i will be interested in following how it all effects you all on TDP in the next year or so. I reckon there will be other unforseen casualties of it all.
