Is this a con?
My first thoughts are, yes, I'm pretty certain it is but I don't want to fuck it up on the outside chance that it isn't.
Got a card through the post and I want to know if it's genuine or if every fuckers got one. It's got Royal Mail in the corner (which means fuck all) and it says that there's a digital camera awaiting my instruction to be delivered and that I have to ring a number to arrange delivery. All ok so far (with the exception that I'm not expecting a digital camera) but the small print -packages not claimed within 14 days will be returned to stock etc etc, it says that calls are charged at £1.50 per minute. Now I know that Royal Mail are struggling to plug the gap in their pension fund but this sounds highly unlikey even for that piss pot organisation so I'm thinking its a scam. It also mentions PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) and a company called Studio telecom in Wrexham. Whadayareckon ![]() |

Thanks Seen. The more I look at it, the more I think you're right.
Anyone else out there actually received one? |

Re: Is this a con?
You know the rules ODM, if it looks to good to be true.....
The £1.50 a minute phone line would suggest its a bit iffy. Also why would a company give away digital camera's to random people who they don't know, have never had contact with before and are likely to never have contact with again? If you have entered some competition or whatever, fine, but just randomly getting a digi camera for little or no effort I suppose you could do is call the number, if it sounds like its going to be a 30 minute phone call then hang up after a minute or so. Worst that could happen is your phone line is suddenly tapped into a sex phone line (which doesn't allow disconnects) to Guyana at £45 every 15 seconds..... ![]() |

The whole point is that the card is the same as a form that you'd get if something was unable to be delivered and not some obvious spam thingy. It is Christmas time and it's not beyond the realms of posibility that someone could have actually bought me one of these things as a present, me being so popular and everything ![]() |

Re: Is this a con?
Which is what the card is saying it is and that you need to phone to arrange delivery.
Forget I asked. Thanks for the replies. |
