Re: Curry Night
Sounds great slick. I was toying with the idea of banging a microwave madras in but had talked myself out of it on the grounds that I had a sit down curry out last night.
But you've talked me back into it again Madras and cider. mmmmmmm |

Re: Curry Night
Yeah curry has to be one of lifes great pleasures. It was interesting when I saw that it is Gordon Ramsey's favourite food too. Who would think that a three star michelin chef would rate curry as the best. Goes to show eh?
I like Vindaloo's or Jalfrezi's. It has to be so hot it makes you shake. In Birmingham my mates used to challege me to eat the hottest curry and if I finished it they would pay. What they failed to realise is that unlike so many pissed up nob heads I like it that hot. The only thing I will say is that I like it slightly milder now that I have given up smoking. Oh and Cider is a girls or alcoholics drink. |

Re: Curry Night
Well I like cider. In fact I hate the taste of bitter and I can just about tolerate lager but I cant say i enjoy it. I drink for the effect rather than the taste but I have to say i enjoy cider the most.
Gets me pissed quicker than lager though ![]() |

Re: Curry Night
I used to drink cider a lot b4 it starting giving me ulcers , not the normal cider but the extra strong chemical shite that was about 10 bob a gallon.
So i only drink Lager now which seems to go down well with a Ruby especially the bottled stuff thats been well chilled. Theres currys and currys , the take away or restaurant stuff made by the asians ,well bangledeshi's mainly is unbeatable, i used to be into cooking a lot believe it or not and no matter what i did even with original ingredients i couldent get that taste , its an art form that even Ramsey cant achieve and its the reason i suppose he likes it so much. I feel a fat cnut now after eating all that ,can hardly breath and have took my jeans off so im sat here in boxers now, i better go and read get1ns keep fit thread and see when its starting. |

Re: Curry Night
Plenty of time yet mate.
I'm not one to blow my own trumpet (as you know ) but I absolutly LOVE my own curries. The only downside is that I like them a little hotter than the rest of the family so I tend to overdo it and end up with a pan full just for me The other thing is that I don't measure any ingredients and I just add what I feel like adding so I could never make the same curry twice. And yes, inevitably this means that I sometimes end up with something that I wouldn't give to a starving dog. |

Re: Curry Night
I have had Curry aswell - me and my girlfriend get 2 types and split them. Had a vindaloo and some other that the name eludes me. They are a true delight and my favourite food.
No beer for me tonight after last nights commotion. Just diluted Orange squash for me ![]() |

Re: Curry Night
I can make curry's OD its just that i cant get that authentic taste . even packet ,jar, dried ,frozen dont come anywher near , maybe i'm spoilt as we have that many indian restaurants and take aways round here that im too used to the good stuff and even @ school i was working part time for asians so acquired the taste @ an early age.
but i'm fcuked if i can re-create it, they use something called an Akhni stock or suammat like that , its a stock they create over time in those large pans on the cooker and use it for the base of their curry, every one is different and thats how the restaurants have that individual taste, i bought a book once and in it had the insructions on how to create one but it wasent the same, secrets of the trade i suppose. |

Re: Curry Night
I like Tandoori Mix Grills too. You can't recreate them no matter what you do. I like to pile it high with fried onions as well. I fart like a trooper though.
I'll try and ring smelly baws again. |

Re: Curry Night
do love curries, i make a great curry but i struggle in making different types..
they all end up the same, damn fine all the same but i tend to chuck everything in. can recommend "the curry secret" by Kris Dhillon. he is a chef dude and gives recepies for every curry around. all made from the basic base but varied spices. tells you how to make all the starters and naan breads etc ![]() think it was £4 from ebay... |
