Bookmakers closing accounts

Recently I've had accounts closed at Coral and Victor Chandler. Others have had accounts closed at Stan James. Anybody have any ideas why they some many firms have come down hard on moderate wining accounts?

And how long have Betfair been charging customers for not using accounts? I've not used mine this year due to getting decent early odds at regular online bookies and now I've recieved and email saying if i don't place a bet b4 the end of the month they are going to charge me?
I find that fcuking strange as i may aswell withdraw my money to £0.0 so they won't earn a penny commission on what i have in my betfair account.

There is a link which you can click within the warning email that cancels out the charge but it so fcuking much stinks of a scam when you first read it, it would take a nutter to click it.
Who the fcuk wants to waste time searching the net to see if the email is genuine or not, Which by the way it is after wasting an hr or two of my life looking into it.

Betfair have really fcuked up here imo and doing themselves no favours.

Well thats three of us within 15 mins, its no doubt the idea of some jumped up wanker of a manager Betfair have employed to get that extra ounce of blood out of its customers (which to be fair is the norm nowadays) and just like the norm everywhere else he/she have come up with some obscure idea to prove their worth and come up with a wheel barrow full of bollox trying to impress.

I've allready removed my money and won't be using them again, tell the truth i have no need anyhow but because i had money in there it was always an option and them earning commision not me, that has now gone, more the fool them.

This charging for unused accounts is going to happen more and more. I read about one of the big firms doing it a while ago - may even have been laddies, I'll check. it really looks counter-productive to me in a time when they are fighting for custom.

Surely its in their favour if 1000 people have £20 sitting unused in an account thats 20k sitting in their bank account earning interest....

Was sitting with a drink on Friday and went to tried signing into Victor Chandler on my phone to bet on France at 6/5 vs Poland....wouldnt let me into my account 'wrong password' ...ok then fuck that....got home reset password 3 times...no joy!
Got up chat....what's wrong with my account?....Comes back to me and tells me a 'senior trader' has taken the decision to delete my account for business reasons? Well mate what about the money in my account?
I'm very sorry i will withdraw it now?
So they didn't bother e-mailing me and had my money sitting in that account until when? Probably would have lay there forever if i hadn't have chased it up! So after my chat and chasing him about it and him not being able to 'divulge any more information' he sent me a follow up e-mail....

I find this crazy as i have only been with them about two months or so? I have made about £500 profit maybe tops? I'm sure that isn't much to a large bookmakers over 2 months! Bet365 i touched for a lucky 15 last year of over £7,500 and went on a huge winning strike at the end of last season winning £1000's yet not a word said? This is absolutely pathetic! 'I don't want your custom as your taking advantage of 'value' in the way we compile our own odds' then compile the odds better and 'good' punters won't be able to take advantage of crap odds compiling or good information!

Bet365 are the best. None of the others come anywhere near them for markets, customer service, offers, in play markets, anything.

Agreed, they are my main bookmaker and always have a wide range of asian lines and markets for even the smallest of games! Always get a tenner thrown into the account now and again and the refunds on HT/FT markets when the game ends 0-0 is nice.
They let you watch all the horse races with only a £1 on them, you can watch 10's of football matches per day with only 1p in your account with a good, reliable feed!
Customer Services have also been great had one local game which i won on given to the other team and when i told them of the proper result it was rectified in minutes, great site and would highly recommend them!

Yep, agree with that too..my main site and the one I measure all others against. None come close.

Ditto that, i've never had a problem with bet365 and the main reason I use their odds when i post up fixtures or betting events.

Vic Chandler closed my account today, WTF???

I emailed them the following reply...

I would like to think that you would have the common decency to offer me an explanation as to why my account has been closed.

Please be advised that this was purely and simply a business decision and is no way intended as personal to you.

This is a standard procedure that is periodically carried out by our traders, as stated on our web site; we are at liberty to close an account should we choose without notifying our clients.

However, out of courtesy, we always make an effort to notify clients of closure, wherever possible.

I have taken the liberty of copying the rules as posted on our site for you to view.

As per the rules state:

5. VCI reserves the right to refuse the whole or any part of any bet request for any reason. We also reserve the right to close any account without obligation to state a reason. No Duplicate accounts are allowed - one account per customer.

Wouldn't take it personal Seen, did a thread a while back with the same thing, there are other threads on the net with similar stories too..vic chandler are doing it to loads of people (had one account shut, now on my second with a different bank card and e-mail address and had no problems..) not been banned by stan james who seem the second worse but they will let me bet about 2quid on most things...just the way things are going now I guess!
