Premiership twists and turns
Up until last week, quite simply, there hadn't been any. Chelsea came out the traps like lightening and have been comfortably in front ever since.
Last weeks trouncing at home by Sunderland opened more than a few eyes and the daft bastards who were laying Chelsea at 1.6 something got a deserved kick right in the fucking bollocks. If you were one of the ones laying at that price, then you're a cunt (but I probably won't be the first one to have mentioned that). 1.6 and 1.7 with only a third of the season gone? Defies belief. Anyway, the price for Chelsea drifted to a more reasonable 2.2 ish during the week but is now contracting again to 1.94. The purpose of this thread is to highlight the crunch days between now and the end of the season. Obviously the head to heads between Chelsea, Arsenal and United will be crucial but today is probably the first massive potentially pivotal point. This time last week Chelsea were pretty much unbeatable barring the odd slip. Then Sunderland prove that to be bollocks and the news that Terry will be out for weeks adds to the uncertainty. So today will see feelings go one way or the other. If Arsenal win the North London Derby they go top and the pressure is on. I'm sure Chelsea will respond with a victory at Birmingham but the realisation will be sinking in that this is a serious race and not a forgone conclusion. Chelsea's "extra point" by the virtue of goal difference (currently +20) is also catchable by both Arsenal and United (+14 and +11) as they are well capable of knocking 6 in at their very best. On the other hand, Arsenal lose or draw and Chelsea win and we are back to last Saturday with idiots laying Chelsea at 1.7 again. Chelsea have a tough December coming up with Everton, Spurs, United and Arsenal to play and today will decide whether they will go into the month odds on or not. Massive day today. I'm expecting a draw at the Emirates and the other two contenders to win which will only leave Chelsea three points clear at the top. |

Re: Premiership twists and turns
I should also mention Arsenal and United's betfair prices for reference, 5 and 4.2 respectively.
Chelsea will be trading at somewhere between 1.75 and 2.25 at the end of today, depending on how events unfold. Fascinating. |

Re: Premiership twists and turns
Well at least they've got out of the habit of scraping draws against mid-table teams and below.
Haven't they? Oh no, I remember now, they did it again in the last game didn't they? I have no idea where this confidence in United comes from. It certainly can't be from watching them play, that's for sure. Arsenal are Chelsea's main danger - even if they only get a point today, that will still be my view. i just hope they buy a keeper in January but i can't see it happening. I suppose it would be wrong to say that I hope Nani gets his cheekbone smashed to pieces is it? Yes? Thought so. I just want the diving cheating cunt to experience some real pain so that he doesn't think he's going into childbirth every time somebody taps him on the ankle. |

Re: Premiership twists and turns
Yeah I find that annoying too about Nani.
Arsenal were my preseason pick, but I'm fully aware that they can drop silly points against routine teams. Chelsea are just having their annual crisis. They piss someone off and the media go to town over it. It's that, or Drogba has yet again announced he wants away. It's always entertaining when it happens and there's definitely a few more points to be dropped over this. As for Spurs, I just wish they'd pissing win. They're capable. I've got a wicked e/w handicap bet that is still promising. I just want them out of the Champions League as soon as! |
