YOU TWAT.
I said to you it was not worth that risk..You have done well over the last few weeks.. why take that risk.. Slow and steady i said....
This is why staking ALWAYS is needed... you risked too much.. 50/50 is no good mate.. even 98% is no good as you will get bitten. And you did.
I hope you learn a valuable lesson from this adam.

Fuck me mate! Seriously, if you haven't already learned this, you should never bet more than about 20% of your bank on 1 thing and should really bet less than 5% unless the odds are quite low. I sometimes go up to 15% on 1.2 shots. Fair play for getting to there in the first place and wanting to give up working. How long did it take you? I'm sure you can do it again just learn from this time. James is spot on, you need to increase your bank slowly or be lucky and eventually your luck will run out. And especially with the amounts your betting in you need to be careful because your not talking about spare change.
Sorry if that sounds patronising mate but I really feel for you and i really wouldn't want you to do that again. Best of luck, i'm sure you can get there again but dont chase your loss as I know this will be tempting.

How can you get a tip that its going to be 1-0 unless its a fix? Its not like horses where the owners have inside info.

Surely you would have noticed a disproportionate amount of money on the market if you suspected inside info or a fix ?
Please don't tell me you backed the 1-0 correct score.
Why the hell didn't you lay it off anyway ? You would have still made a small fortune.

You put £12k on a bet and then went down the pub not even keeping an eye on the score ?
I'm bad enough when I put £12 on a match.
You're having us on a wind up here aren't ya ??

Yorkie this is all quite serious you know.
To me it sounds like you've been deliberately taken advantage of, and hustled out of your inheritance by being fed false information to manipulate the market.
I hope you don't mind but I've emailed a copy of this thread and the screenshot to info@betfair.com and also to adjudication@ibas-uk.co.uk (Independent Betting Adjudication Service) I've also included the e-mail address that you use on Facebook for them to contact you.
TBH I'm sorry mate but I don't think there is much chance of getting your money back I'm afraid, even if they are able to investigate it further and take any action.
You must be feeling absolutely sick atm.
If you need help with anything, just give me a shout geezer.

Everyone has bad mistakes but that is a big one !
.
Betfair mobile where you can use your phone and stay in contact wherever you are would be a good idea. Or betfair lite via wap also

Yorkie looks like it was my typo earlier sorry, like I said my head aint all there atm, we lost one of the good guys yesterday (ok he was a west ham fan but nobody is perfect)
He would have been so excited about the West Ham takeover too
I've only just got up, I didn't sleep well last night at all.
I got your messages on fb and tdp.
My e-mail has been spammed to fuck and I've got messages from friends saying that I have sent them a dodgy attachment. I've got a reply from betfair but I cant open it atm. Eset smart security is going haywire and giving me DNS poisoning messages FFS.
I've copy and pasted the email I sent to betfair and IBAS for you...
Quote:Hi there,
I'm just writing to you to make you aware of a situation I have encountered on a gambling
forum I am a member of. Apparently a yound lad was talked into placing a considerable bet on
the Bordeaux - Marseille match on Sunday 17th Jan 2010. He claims that he had been given
inside infomation which led to him placing a bet on the betfair exchange of £12000 of his
inheritance money. I didnt believe it at first but there`s a screenshot of the bet (which I
have attatched to this message) so it must be true. The bet lost and the guy seemed
genuinely upset. This immediately raised concerns with me that maybe he had been duped into
manipulating the market with a particuarly large bet.
I felt it was my duty to inform both Betfair and IBAS of this situation for further
investigation.
Here is a link to the original bulletin board message
1
He hasn't revealed what his betfair username is, but I have contact with the guy via
facebook, where he uses the email address of [removed]@[removed].com and goes by the name of
Adam Preston.
If you need any more information, or my assistance in any enquiries you can contact me on
this e-mail address.

Dear ******
Thank you for contacting us in relation to the alleged betting practices on the site.Anything which is brought to the attention of our market integrity team (whether by any of our customers, the relevant sporting regulator or someone within Betfair) is thoroughly investigated. I can assure you that the integrity team will be examining the patterns traded on this market. Details may be shared with the relevant sporting regulator if we feel that is justified.
Unfortunately I can't be specific in relation to any findings we may make, or action we may take. If we ever did find something untoward and either made this public or relayed those details to one of our customers, then we would be in danger of prejudicing any investigation by the relevant authorities that might follow.
On the other hand, if we find nothing untoward and go back to a customer with that information, we are by definition saying that if we don’t go back in a similar fashion if the same customer ever raises a query in the future, then there is something of concern to us in the betting activity in question in that future hypothetical example
In other words, if something is brought to our attention (as you have done here), we will look into it, but are not able to let you know what the outcome of any internal investigation has been. I accept that this stance may be a little unsatisfactory for some customers who raise concerns, but we feel it is necessary on the grounds stated above.
We do appreciate your input and I can assure you it is taken seriously.
Yours sincerely,
Kevin Flynn
