Wii Rip Off - Introducing the Vii

Posts tagged Vii at Engadget

Has anyone seen this Wii rip off from china? The Vii

Apparently plays all the Wii games, it just costs half the price. Basically they've dismantled the Wii and copied it.

Re: Wii Rip Off - Introducing the Vii

Looks like a bit of a wind up if u ask me as the same page is plastered about the net, Also Nintendo would jump on them b4 it even took off if it was genuine i should imagine.

Anyhow a chipped Wii works out a lot cheaper than that when u take into account the cost of games, I must have nearly 30 wii games now and would well and truely be pissed of if i had paid full wack for them all as most arent really that good as yet but i should imagine they will get better once they stop rushing them out.

Slick,

I'm thinking of getting my hands on one again. Fancy posting up a chipping guide or something.

Re: Wii Rip Off - Introducing the Vii

Most of the new Wii's are D2C's which means you have to install the tricky D2CKey chip (not recommended for amateur solderers, 30+ wires, chippers are charging approx £80 for chip+labour) or wait a few weeks for the new Infectus chip which has just 13 wires and is likely to be half the cost.

I'm holding out for a few weeks yet to see how things move on.
