Boy wees on Wii in revenge attack
Wednesday, January 2, 2008
Hands-free: Danny and Ellis A frustrated four-year old left to play second fiddle to his brother's love of his new Wii games console got his revenge the way boys do.

Ellis Emsley weed all over six-year-old Danny's prized Nintendo Wii – leaving it water- logged and out of action.

Their mother Kerry, 25, said: 'It seems Ellis got fed up with Danny being obsessed with the Wii and refusing to play with him.

'He was told it was his turn on the Wii next, but he took it a bit too literally and used his secret weapon to sabotage the machine.

'Danny was speechless with rage, Ellis knew he had done something wrong and went and hid under his bed.' The £250 console was bought for Christmas following months of searching by the boys' father, Darren, 33.

The family from Fleetwood, Lancashire, are now keeping their fingers crossed that the 'accident' will be covered by their home insurance.

'It must surely be counted as a leak,' Mr Emsley said

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

There a 3 versions of the wii @ the moment,DMS, D2A & D2B the most recent one being the "D2B" produced in Feb 2007 onwards.
You can generally use your Wii serial number to check your version, or use this site to do it for you..

Nintendo-Scene Wii Serial Tracker

DMS and D2A versions are a piece of piss to chip and you could even program ure own chips if you had a programmer that costs around a tenner using a pic12f629 chip and the yaosm program code, or simpler still just buy one of the shelf.

The latest chip is the D2CKEY whic will work on all models but is a complex install on the D2B wii and best to get somebody else to do it.

The DMS and D2A versions of the wii can use any chip really and can be fitted within 10 to 15 mins.

these guys are pretty reputable and also do a fitting service (click on the nintendo wii menu )
Cyclo DS Memor 32 CycloWiz WiiKey WiiD Buy Wii Mod chip PS2 Swap Magic Coder V3.8 & Slimtool MK2 . Nintendo DS M3 DS Simply CycloDS Evolution

or if you have a local computer fair like Bowlers in Manchester then take it there and they will chip it on the spot, the pricewill vary depending what version wii u have so check the version b4 u take it.

for lots more information and the various types of chips then go here as its probably the best chipping forum on the net for info..

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

If the Wii tracker shows you have the latest version (D2C) then don't get the D2CKey fitted as it's (currently) not updatable - so any new games with updates on won't be playable.

The new Argon is out, which is what I've got. This is updatable so is the better option although there are rumours of a few teething problems.

Presuming your Wii is PAL then make sure you only play PAL backups - updates from a NTSC game could brick your Wii.

Had a look at that modchip fitting site Slick linked to - no mention of the new Argon chip, even though it's been out since late December, and £129 to fit a D2CKey is way over the top.

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

Interesting stuff slick (and Seen).

Got one at new at Xmas, assume its one of the newer versions, and was planning to get it chipped in the New Year. Will have a read on the forums.

I used Gameworld Direct before Xmas to get a chipped PS2 for the oldests Xmas. Few problems (first one they sent didn't work) and they were snowed under with work and hard to get in contact with but in the end got it all sorted. They also do Wii chipping.

Also got another site (at home) where there was an ad on the Adzooks site, some lad in Cheshire who was quoting about £50 for chipping Wii's.

Will maybe give it a month or two yet, wait and see what happens with the chip Seen mentions and keep an eye on those forum links.

Cheers folks.

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

The first batch of Argons are having a few issues with some games, freezing/crashing etc.....the makers have said it's a firmware issue and they have an update to fix it....so you'd be best off waiting a while for these problems to be fixed.

An Argon fitted will set you back around £70 I reckon, probs £80 if you're going to send it off to be done. The older chips (won't work on yours Crowie as it's a new one) are a lot easier to do and are usually about £30.

I'm like Crowie and will wait a few months to let it settle but the kids (and me) love it.

Cheers Seen, that was what I was thinking.

Had a quick browse on those forums yesterday, saw the Aragon issues and will keep an eye on it.

Also saw there is supposedly a DC2Pro chip due for release some time this year, sounds like it would be quite decent.

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

Aye the new Wii's are having plenty of problems and i'll be surprised if anybody will do a 30 wire install for less than 50 quid, thats why i mentioned going to a computer fair as you'll get a D2CKEY fitted for about £80-£100 with the chip.

every chip has its problems as newer games tend to have newer security measures embedded so the chip has to be upgradeable via a dvd or software if ure using a pic chip.

If u have a DMS OR D2A version of the wii then i'd suggest using yaosm software as it runs every game to date and can be bought and fitted for less than £50.

Seen also mentioned an excellent point that i overlooked, in always use the same region games as the wii was designed for otherwise u stand a good chance of bricking the wii even though some other regions will work on it, its not worth taking the risk.
So if u have a PAL wii then stick to PAL games.

Re: wii games ( att of slick , the master)

I'm having a strange problem...

Although a few of my Wii games occasionally crash (probs down to having the first version of Argon chip) most run fine without any problems.

However, the last 4 iso's I've burned are not working, just getting the "disc cannot be read" message when try and play. Getting them from the same newsgroups, using the same media, the same mounting software, nothing has changed but my new burns just won't work.

Pissing me off a bit
