Even the older versions can play SMG now as wiifree cracked it the other day, as you say its more of a kids console but as anybody can just pick it up and play it, its great for when friends and family come round and just want a bit of a laff as everybody can play it.

Games are coming out for it daily now so theres quite a selection to go at unlike this time last yr when everybody was stuck with Wii sports and Zelda.

The wife went to Toys R Us in Glasgow @ 4.30am to try for the "must have " toy.

Folk had been queing since 7.30pm.Ffs!

She now wants to buy one from Germany.Told her to get real & we'll just wait till New Year when it's at the proper price.

Besides it means kids will spend more time on the other pressies rather than 2 mins & then on the Wii.

Remember things being just as mad when I was young and the Atari came out.

I've just got hold of Super Mario Galaxy and its brilliant, best game i've played on the WII to date, must have for anybody buying a wii for chrimbo believe me.

You just downloading and burning the images slick?

Then the chipped machine takes them ok?

Does it matter what country the images are from?

NTSC to NTSC

or you could brick your Wii with regional updates

I just stick with PAL images but u should check with gbatemp or psx-scene to make sure the game won't brick your wii first before running, they also have a comparable list as to what NTSC games will work on a PAL machine, PAL is what we use in the UK for those who don't know.

I also had to reprogram my chip with YAOSM for Super Mario Galaxy to work, check to see if the chip u have can run the game on the above sites as there is a risk of bricking the wii otherwise.

YAOSM can be found here, I used this instead of wiifree on a 12F629.

Bloody addictive as hell this Super Mario Galaxy and one of the few WII games i'd actually pay for, in fact i feel so guilty about playing it that I may even go out and buy it as its so good, I noticed today thats its also a few quid cheaper than the other games which surprised me.

I'll say again that if anybody has bought a wii for chrimbo this is a must have game for anybody say 8 yrs old and upwards, if you liked supermario world then you'll fall in love with this as all the old characters are here, abeit in 3d and different surroundings but its great to see all the old enemies again.

The controls like anything else you play on the wii take a wee while getting used to but after 20 mins or so your ready to do battle and the initial warm up scenes practically teach you all you need to know to see you through the game.

A DAD made a 12-hour road and sea journey to pick up this year's must-have Christmas present - Nintendo Wiis.

But Peter MacGregor ended up out of pocket when Argos refused to sell him the four Wiis he had reserved online.

Peter, of Crosshill, Ayrshire, got to the store in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, five minutes before it closed.

But he was left fuming when the store said there was a limit of one Wii per customer.

Although the coveted games console only cost him £179.97, his ferry and hire car had cost him the same again.

And the 43-year-old garage owner could have got one locally for £300.

He said he had only made the journey because he had been assured on the phone that he could have four Wiis.

He said: "When I arrived there with the four reservation numbers, the manageress said they only sold one per customer and there was only one left.

"If I had been told that, I'd have brought three people with me or not bothered at all. But she wouldn't budge."

An Argos spokeswoman said they would speak to Peter to try to resolve the issue.

Its called tough titty i suppose Betfly and wouldent have been fair on the locals if he would have nabbed all four, Argos are the ones to blame in that scenario but the fella should have used his common sense as Wii's are so hard to get hold of and NI is no different from the rest of the UK.

wft did he want 4 for anyhow unless he was looking to make a quick buck.

Played tennis against the wife last night (1st time since sat we've had a chance to play!)
