Free bets and offers problem
Hi all. I have over the past few weeks, had a few problems brought to my attention in regards to bookmakers offers. The problem seems to be, that new accounts are being restricted after a few bets have been placed. This means that the offer of say £200 in free bets when opening a new account is not possible. BGbet and Boylesports are two that spring to mind.

Re: Free bets and offers problem
Hi onedunme. I hope you are well today. As you say, it will be interesting to see if this is happening on a regular basis. Ive seen the emails sent to the account holders. They mirror each other in such a way, that it appears to be a policy, rather than a trading decision as stated. Customers are told to place bets via the telephone, and then told they can only place a £10 bet (regardless of the odds). This smashes the average for the free bets. But worse than that, it ruins the account for betting purposes in the future, as the restriction remains. If these companies do not want new customers receiving the maximum free bets, then why not just reduce the amount on offer. I find it frustrating as an affiliate, that we work hard to get the sign ups, and then have the opportunity to make any commission from the account as it is strangled to death.

I am also aware of people being restricted to pennies on BG Bet. And thats not an exaggeration, it literally is under £1. The Boyles advert isn't worth the virtual paper its printed on. It would be a surprise if anyone got the entire free bet basket off them, full value anyway. Quote:

Well I can understand the annoyance and it needs to be shouted from the rooftops.
I can't understand the justification for it on a "losing" account. As if they bastards don't make enough money. |

Re: Free bets and offers problem
I cant for the life of understand why they would wish to restrict a punters account, even if its a winning one. We all know that these bookies have accounts with exchanges, so why dont they just accomodate the punter, and then back on the exchange for a small priofit. If they cant do that with a certain wager, then fine, restrict the bet, but I bet this would be few and far between. I think that the traders are just lazy. If they got paid a wage from a % of bets taken, they would not be restricting accounts so readily.
