Hi all. I have over the past few weeks, had a few problems brought to my attention in regards to bookmakers offers. The problem seems to be, that new accounts are being restricted after a few bets have been placed. This means that the offer of say £200 in free bets when opening a new account is not possible. BGbet and Boylesports are two that spring to mind.
Hi onedunme. I hope you are well today. As you say, it will be interesting to see if this is happening on a regular basis. Ive seen the emails sent to the account holders. They mirror each other in such a way, that it appears to be a policy, rather than a trading decision as stated. Customers are told to place bets via the telephone, and then told they can only place a £10 bet (regardless of the odds). This smashes the average for the free bets. But worse than that, it ruins the account for betting purposes in the future, as the restriction remains. If these companies do not want new customers receiving the maximum free bets, then why not just reduce the amount on offer. I find it frustrating as an affiliate, that we work hard to get the sign ups, and then have the opportunity to make any commission from the account as it is strangled to death.
It will be interesting to hear if anyone else has.
I've been restricted ODM. Thats my post from a couple of months ago. Ignore the fact that I am laying off elsewhere to get the free bets, what I am betting is entirely in line with their T&C's.
I am also aware of people being restricted to pennies on BG Bet. And thats not an exaggeration, it literally is under £1.
The Boyles advert isn't worth the virtual paper its printed on. It would be a surprise if anyone got the entire free bet basket off them, full value anyway.

Gave this a wee tester with an Irish based bookie that are not Paddy Power.
£200 "bet basket". Apparently.
First bet on, loses. Get first £50 free bet, back and lay on horses, bout £43 profit.
You then have to do a set of 5 bets and you will get another free bet to the average of your 5 bets.
So backs ANC game (lost), cricket game twice (void), and other ANC twice (lost). Gets a freebie £50, arbed out on horses, £40 odd profit.
This weekend I bet EPL (winner at 1.57!) and Serie A (winner at 1.33!). Last night I went to do cricket, can't get £50 on, phone CS.
So I phone them and they tell me price is now 1.80, was 2.38 online (?!) and I can have £25. No thanks.
I then try and do some stuff in UEFA Cup (1.33, 1.40 and 1.53). I can't get fuck all on online and I have to phone CS.
They go away to their "traders" who tell me I can have a max of £25 on each game. £25!?!!
So basically my record at this bookies is W2, at odds of 1.57 and 1.33, L4, lost 2 freebies and voided 2 bets. I have bet a total of £400 of my own money and made £45 profit on the two winners. I am down £155 to them.
The lad at CS went back 3 times to "traders" and despite me being £155 down over about 8 bets they won't budge. I mention that they offer a £200 "bet basket" and how is anyone supposed to get £200 in free bets if their accounts are limited after 8 bets? He saw my point but they wouldn't budge.
Now if anyone was doing this as just a punter, and not the way I am, what the fuck are they going to do when their limited half way through the bet basket and can't get a bet on online. On a losing account?!
Bunch of cunts. I would be more angry if this was my first account with them though!
I cant for the life of understand why they would wish to restrict a punters account, even if its a winning one. We all know that these bookies have accounts with exchanges, so why dont they just accomodate the punter, and then back on the exchange for a small priofit. If they cant do that with a certain wager, then fine, restrict the bet, but I bet this would be few and far between. I think that the traders are just lazy. If they got paid a wage from a % of bets taken, they would not be restricting accounts so readily.
