Tougher semi this...a lot of the strong songs are in the middle, and the weaker ones in the good slots. Can count out Croatia, Czechs, and Lithuania, but that's as far as I've got so far.

I've gone off the Belarussians now Komp - the updated version of the song was good but he can't pull it off live. Can't be backing it at not far over evens at the moment.

Iceland 1/2 nah maybe not. it aint nothing special. sweden is awfull. Here we go. Latvia to qualify. Easy money

Found it worthwhile to have approach it as realistically as possible - listen to live performances of all the songs in the order that they perform, and therefore get a good idea of how it's all developing as it goes along. Back in a mo to start...

Ok Let's get this semi underway...

Iceland:



I think that's a great song to open and will go down a storm - he's a pretty decent singer. The song itself is pretty uninspiring stuff, just a stock dance track, but the presentation is slick and its got everything an opener needs. Got good skando support in this semi - at the moment, have it down as a deffo qualifier.

Sweden:



Almost put in the shade a little given it seems far less energetic than the opener. Its nothing more than usual Eurovision pop but there's plenty support around for this and it'll be a huge surprise if it doesnt make it.

Turkey:



I think this might actually struggle based on its starting slot - it's coming behind 2 foot stompers and this just sounds a bit like after the mayors show. Will need every expat vote going to get through I think - but being a big gun it might just do enough.

Ukraine:



Yet another strong opener...can all the first 4 qualify? It would be unprecendented but dont count it out, and this looks the most likely of the lot. Another solid song and with plenty friends out there for the Ukrainians then this one should be performing again on Saturday night barring an absolute disaster.

Lithuania:



It had to end somewhere, and this bizarre song is just gonna sound even worse after that opening. Will get support from Latvia and that'll be about it...qualification chances are virtually zero.
