Re: Turkey

Not a bad song, indeed but would have had better chances if it was in English. Anyway, I bet it will get the biggest vote from Germany.

Re: Turkey

Agreed engineer, a song like this needs to be in English. Turkey always go fairly well due to large expat communities, but boy bands aren't eurovision and I guess you could call this one...needs a catchy little hook and doesnt have one.

Re: Turkey

Turkey have went well the last 4 or 5 eurovisions. they seem to know what its all about. Aye not a bad start. Ouch. It sounds German. the only thing that will save this for me is a nice dancy ethniky chorus and i dont think it has, i think im listening to the chorus at the moment but i might be wrong. dear dear this is becoming painfull. Suprised at turkey choosing this. Maybe someone told them Rock is all the rage this year. I aint so sure.

Re: Turkey

We invited Shane McGowan to compete for us with his great English dialect and extraordinary song style but the call didnt arouse his interest.sad but true :/

Re: Turkey

Shane is too cool for Eurovision Altay. I wouldnt be too dissapointed by his refusal. 4 years ago when Turkey won this i was on at 25/1. Won on the last voting round. My best Eurovision ever it was

Re: Turkey

Actually Turkey's points are more or less clear, everyone knows from where Turkey will get full 12 points and where we will have no chance to get single point. If the tele voting goes on it will be same every year.

I'm really surprised to see "Mor ve Otesi", a popular and a leftist rock band in Turkey. I personally know the guys and really want them to be succesful. But honestly there is not much chance to be in top 5, also song is not bad, I expect a place between 5-10.

Re: Turkey

I'd put money on this. Due to the ex-pat info and it being ok.

Re: Turkey

Another excellent performance in my opinion and looking like a contender to me.

Re: Turkey

Agreed, thought the performance yesterday came across far far catchier than I remember - I won't labour the Balkans point from the Albania thread(and it doesn't apply to Turkey quite as much) but it remains, and it's always useful to remember of the large Turkish expat vote, who will rally round this one I would think as(disregarding what I was saying earlier) its in Turkish for once.

Draw isn't great but nevertheless it looks underrated at current odds.

Re: Turkey

What's the other 'rock' entries? Finald, Azerbajan.. I can't remember any others. I'm concerned the song itself sounds a little, 'dark' but can see it as top 6.

Re: Turkey

Couple more listens to the semi performance and it's pretty faultless. No complaints there at all and I'd expect as good, if not better in the final. BUT!!! The song. This is tough. I really like it but will it appeal to a large enough audience to see them move beyond 6th, 5th, 4th position?

That's a good question, Mick.

edit: He sings your name quite a lot Beanie. Weird.

Re: Turkey

Ok doke. I've got some on this @ 40's so I think I've just about covered all the songs I like.

A little more @ 42.00 and I am now done with these fellas methinks. No worries at all about the performance so it's all about whether the song is going to appeal. I'm not convinced it will but I'd like to see it in contention at least.
