Re: Ireland

What te hell was the irish thinking of? This is just a mess. The whole embracing the eurovision history is a terrible idea. It's favourite with the irish bookmakers but i think it could be a right turkey

Re: Ireland

Mental affair we got here

The sound is like copied from a Serb song from the late 80's (good ones they are though).

The Ukranians finished 2nd last year with their bigger mess, so that one isn't without chances I reckon.

Re: Ireland

The whole appeal of the Irish entry hangs on the personality of the turkey - he's done plenty interviews and isn't half bad at them. Your average Englander who sees the barmy sod on Sky News will get, but your average Eastern European might not be on the same wavelength.

I love that Eurobeat in there, if anything its the Turkey that spoils it.

Still, based on the Ukraine last year thiis should go ok, but those odds look too short. Shouting about gettiing 12 points has been done before and doesnt really work.

Re: Ireland

Sorry Beanie I disagree.. even though you may have changed your mind since posting this.

If I wanted to have money tied up in this for a while I'd lay this garbage and use the stake elsewhere, when I see some real backing value I may well go for it

Re: Ireland

I haven't really changed my mind, I do think it could do ok - the bonkers songs quite often do, but as for winning, not a chance, and so the odds of sub 10s look ridiculous.

Re: Ireland

And I think that's the problem here Snods - 95% of Europe won't get it. When you get it, it's pretty funny. When you don't it's a shouting turkey that sounds awful. And not to mention that 'it' is taking the piss out of Eurovision, which isn't technically allowed anyway, I dont think it will go down well.

My problem is whether it qualifies or not - I don't think it will attract many votes as I say, but it does have both the UK and Malta in its semi and if it gets a high result from both of them, then that just might be enough on its own. If they weren't there, I'd be fairly confident this wouldnt be getting out the semi.

Dustin is def taking the piss, he said on radio that there had been enough turkeys winning the eurovison so now it was his turn (or words to that effect).

I find it hard to believe people take eurovision seriously, I don't know anyone who does. I see you are working hard on it, but just for profit,
(I assume ).

Then again, there are sad people who watch reality tv!

Mad!

I just don't get it

Re: Ireland

You'd be surprised mate...sure in Britain and Ireland its really just a big joke, but not so much throughout Europe. A lot of people - particularly in the former Soviet states, take it all as something like a matter of national pride - Im not saying they take it too seriously, and they certainly like the novelty songs(eg Ukraine last year), but its certainly not the cynical view of over here.

There are as you say the "newer" states......by the way how did Turkey and Israel get in, last time I looked they were outside europe...... is it like soccer?
