I did actually read it wrong initially as I was flicking between windows and basically glancing. I was mortified and suddenly felt guilty for swearing etc.

I can't get over that Danish winner in 2000 though (never mind the one after it!). That really defies belief doesn't it?

Eurovision only really begins for me with Ruslana and Ukraine. That was my first. I know Komp and Slick were heavily into it in 2002. Don't think Slick is into anything these days.

Yeah I think it became a number one dance song a few years later. Amazing how much things have changed in just one decade...01 and 02 were awful. Its amazing how bad some of the winning live performances are...only 06, 07 and 09 seem in tune to me, and 06 doesnt really count in that respect!

DJ Sammy is a version of the 2000 winner MP - the actual chart hit was by a group called XTM so wiki tells me. Only got to number 8 though.

There's a Eurovision musical called Eurobeat btw - think I went when it was at the Edinburgh festival a few years ago. Utterly shit and therefore exactly what it should be - basically just a Eurovision song contest with about 12 different songs, flags waving in the audience, and voting at the end. Worth checking out if you can.
