Iceland and Albania are bad news for each other being side by side.

The best slots look like 17(after these 2 and before France), 19 between France and Russia and 21 between Russia and Germany.

If a ballad gets one of these slots, and by the law of averages one of them will, then its very well placed to do extremely well.

Slot 24 for Armenia would be nice

Well I'm amazed by Portugal's draw Beanie. I know they don't get much support, but last night I think she wowed quite a few people. I don't think you'd want a ballad after her performance.

edit:What do you think about Spain Beanie, good shout for last, or do you think UK and France have that tied up? I just think being 2nd and before Norway just kills anything off!

Na I think Spain are pretty safe for getting some jury votes. It will get zero from most but its a love/hate song and I think we will see the odd 8/10 points from pretty random places for no other reason than a few jury members absolutely love it.

Cant compete with France/UK I dont think!

Portugals draw is very good - might just pinch 10th or something if she does really well, altho its still unlikely.

I definitely want to find a Porutgal bet - I was planning to abandon the bint after she qualified but I love her and her awesome power notes too much. Fab draw too on paper.

I would wait until semi 2 is over. I imagine the odds will lengthen again after that. Currently 5.9 @ Betfair. I think it could go out to at least 7 or 8 (I hope) by Friday when everyone is still jizzing over semi 2

Ooook, so just for fun today I did a ranking, trying to take account of a lot of this weeks madness. Rated each song on its diaspora/friends, draw, televote potential(not including the first two things, so purely on how well a song like that scores), and jury potential(same again.)

Then weight each selection(35% friends etc, 25% jury, 25% televote, 15% draw.)

Then use that for the ranking - Im slightly alarmed at a few of them! Needs some tweaking though as I didnt put much thought into some of the rankings.

So for now, just for fun...

Nice work Beanie! Am I right in thinking that France are less popular than UK?? Or are we still the full-on leper of Europe.

I'm guessing... perhaps you should put this in your maths... No votes either way for Germany or Greece!

Ummm Im beginning to think France will be last. If Josh sings like he can then Id expect one or two jury votes...and Malta will probably give a few. I think France could get closeish to 0.

I meant that because of the financial crisis re: the EURO bailout, there will be no votes passing between Greece and Germany. You can count on that!

You might be surprised...there's plenty of Greeks in Germany who will probably be more motivated than ever to vote and try and get Germany to give them something - wikipedia tells me 300,000 greeks in Germany!
