Well... he was 9th, so it wasn't by a huge margin.

And that's what worries me a bit with Israel this year.

Thats true ss - there are worries based on Israels past performances(particularly being last in the televote last year.)

Boaz was 9th in the televote(from a pretty poor draw) with a song that has been far less well received than this one. Boaz was barely registering on the polls, although that may be because the pre-contest version of the song was pretty dull.

As much as I prefer 2008 to 2010, Milim is showing up much more strongly, and is in a far weaker field(almost all the big hitters like Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Armenia had big songs).

Its an overly simplistic view as there's much more to consider(like the huge number of ballads this year) but based on that Harel should improve on being 9th in the televote.

Evidence suggests that this type of song for Israel will do very well with juries too, and so putting those two things together would suggest that a high finish is likely, but enough to win? I doubt it.

Thats all just guesswork though.

Agree with your analysis, Beanie! I'm not really expecting a victory for Israel either, but am still content with my e/w bet largely due to the top4-part. Also, I see it as a hedge for my pretty substantial Azerbaijan bet on the outright.

Romania's rehearsal from my point of view was great. I mean, they really sing excellent live! Don't know if you like or not, but they might enter the top 5. And it was just the first rehearsal:
