Re: Israel
I'm not seeing it myself. I don't know where the support will come from either. They are not too popular even in the west at the moment due to their recent mossad missions and urban developments. I know this is political and quite small in the grand scheme... But it is something!
Also, I don't see that song as a stand out winner. The only ones I see threatening are Croatia and possibly Sweden, Azerbaijan or Armenia (if they jazz it up a bit). Top-4 maybe... but not winner - I just think people are jumping on the band wagon of a song that isn't really that exciting. I prefer Norway to Israel. Just a load of lemmings in my opinion! edit: listening to it again - the singing is weak for the 1st minute with little interaction when the song is in yawnsville! It then only picks up in the 2nd minute where it pretty much does a Norway! I just think this is bog standard - nothing flash! |

Re: Israel
Interest is starting to tail off a bit now (on the exchanges). I've listened to this lots this morning and it's beginning to grow. With certainty, I can say that it knocks the shit out of Norway.
In my opinion, it's between Israel and Croatia in the battle of the ballads with perhaps Azerbaijan following close behind. I don't think Azerbaijan is strong enough to go for the win. edit: the prices have dropped again edit: just to add, I think I may have been hasty in suggesting a lack of support for Israel. Last year's song which was dreadful qualified well and finished 16th with a decent spread of votes. In the final they did suffer a lack of support from Bloc countries. This I think, is due to the wider competition. Last edited by Gavster : 18-03-2010 at 14:40 |

Re: Israel
I think the song itself is murder to get through. I held on to the end there and noticed it picks up 2 minutes in but by then my head was already in my hands and I was asking God to make the bad man stop. It's actually reminding me a lot of Lithuania last year - good performer but the song just doesn't cut it. In my opinion.

Re: Israel
I find myself agreeing with old squaller again - I've been listening to this one over and over and it just isn't what we're used to hearing being up there in contention. Worst field ever in my opinion though so I do expect this to he hovering. Actually - this to me is like Jade of UK last year: good performer but average song, so I expect a similar placing. Not a winner though.
