Re: Sweden
I thought today I'd be reading endless posts around the net saying 'Ah yeah but x y z' and offering an explanation, but I havent read anything approaching a plausible theory.
'Its not memorable' is the most common, but how striking it is on stage is memorable enough, particularly against the rest. Was Ireland/Cyprus etc really more memorable? The jury vote is the interesting point for me - its where I would have expected pretty solid support(well if Ireland was getting it despite missing her notes, then why wouldnt this?) but it must have got almost none. In short, 24 hours on I still dont have a clue...its the biggest semi shock ever by a mile. |

Re: Sweden
Kom probably would have made it gav - Salem certainly would have, even Eric Saade likely.
There seems to be some sort of ABBA effect for me though - something is causing Europe to mark Sweden more harshly than it marks anyone else at Eurovision. Perhaps they are the absolute embodiment of 'Old Eurovision', and in a fairly drastically changed Eurovision world if they send anything remotely schlager or blonde everyone shrugs and says 'same old same old'... Dunno, just guessing. |
