Re: Croatia
Hmmmmmmm....is that live? If so i'm impressed.
They lose it a bit at the end, but for me thats the best ballad I've heard so far this year. To me thats got the potential to be amazing on stage - I just wish they wouldnt bother with those dance beats early in the song - doesnt fit in at all. Aside from that, if they can perform like that on the night its head and shoulders above the other ballads. Apart from the end...lose it a bit there. Last edited by Beanie : 07-03-2010 at 03:35 |

Re: Croatia
I'm on at 40/1 - I toyed with waiting for further books to open up and see if any better was about, but it looks like all apart from Boyles are ready to wait until the rest of the songs are out and so thats going to be another few weeks, and by then I'd expect this to be getting a bit more attention than it is at present.
For me its far more authentic than most/all of the other ballads released so far - the number of them is a bit concerning but this has the potential to stand out - their performance is already very good. Usually 3 separate vocalists would be bad news, but I cant really fault any of them(until towards the end where the voices dont blend quite as they could - but thats just something to work on over the next 2 months.) Who knows - might turn out to be an also ran, and the lack of interest just now might continue, but there's big -vs against all the market leaders at the moment for me so this one could have some legs. |

Re: Croatia
I said the same to Gav earlier Engineer - Croatia have a slightly iffy Eurovision record with very little to show for their 15+ years.
2009 was dreadfully sung, 2008 was errr wierd, going back further I have to look them up, but not too much to work with. Bloc vote is strong, possibly 2nd only to Bosnia in the Balkans, and even then Bosnia has had far stronger songs in recent years. The song itself has a lot of similarities with Serbia 07(and in most cases it look intentional - the women in suits appearing halfway through isn't very subtle.) |
