You know what, I bloody like this. The comedy factor could rack up some decent points in the semi for them. Trouble is, Slovenia have a terrible qualification record and tend to do very badly or just miss out. Last year's song was pompous and barely had any singing in it, which in my opinion just hacked people off! Not sure what friends they have. Historically, they tend to get points from Baltic and some Bloc countries. The rock aspect could pick up Scandinavian votes. I also think this could appeal to Western voters. This for me is the type of entry that provides one hell of a headache this year - I mean how on earth are we meant to know how a Europe wide spread of juries will score that??
Its one of those that makes marginally more sense the more you listen to it - it might suffer from voters listening to it once and finding it all a bit chaotic...not sure. Better than last year mind you. Tricky one to work out imo... Good work getting all these up btw gav .GIF "Thumb(1)")

The way I see it Beanie, is that most of the time I lose interest in Bloc song because the language is sooooooooo not suited to dynamic songs. I thought at first this is shit, but then the song went on and I got the comedy and enjoyed it. That's how I feel about this song - it's got legs and I think given the differing music styles - traditional folk vs modern rock - will appeal to the jury. I think even juries have had a sense of humour in the past.

 You know its that special time of year when the Eurovision Grinch Ebeneezer Mick turns up. 'There goes Mr Humbug, there goes Mr Grim' etc etc.Once a country selects a stir-crazy young woman who looks like she'd gobble you off for half a pack of pork scratchings he'll be happy...where's this years Russia? Im not sure Eurovision juries do have a sense of humour - the novelty songs all bombed last year(and have done for a few years now) - this isnt strictly novelty but I dont think the comedy helps them particularly. Reminds me a wee bit of Latvia's Traffic Jam(altho I cant listen at work so am basing that on a 3 minute listen last night.)

Ok, well Mickey and I both liked Latvia's Traffic Jam last year. They bombed the semi performance though, and the lead was a bit fooking loopy! I actually think the Russians decided who they wanted through anyway. The TV direction and sound quality differed quite noticeably with certain acts (hence why Bosnia didn't do as well in the Final).
If there were odds there now, I'd put a few quid on Slovenia to qualify. Serbia qualified last year and just listen to that!

I don't really pay attention to what I like these days, gav as I'm aware I enjoy things that are maybe a little on the eccentric side (I loved Russia last year for example but never felt it stood much of a chance of doing anything as it was pure dead mental).
I try to get inside the mind of the voter. To understand the mong.... you must become... the mong. And sorry for freaking out at Eurovision time and slating everything. It's about the only fun I get. Sniff.

Christ. This is worse than I remembered. It's certainly unintentionally funny but how many votes does being, "so shit you're hilarious" get you? Not many I don't think.
So far it seems to me that 98% of the countries are desperately trying to not even qualify this year.

A group of spastics running around the stage banging pots and pans with their soiled underpants round their ankles probably would have received a cheer too. I'm not even able to accurately convey how I feel about this due to the limitations of the written word.
