Bloc: Armenia etc Western Europe: Big-4 and Ireland Southern Europe: Those that don't qualify as Bloc or are part of the Big-4 Baltic - erm well yeah you got it. Scandinavian: Well done! Just going back to Armenia... They haven't failed in the Top-10 yet - I'm checking back the voting history and song quality and will report! Re: Points/Qualification History
i believe the ebu was desperate to have a western winner last year and the juries definitely leaned that way
it will be interesting to see if they lean the same way this year people go on about how the east has dominated recent years and put it down to biased voting only they don't take into account how many western entries in recent years were rubbish, remember the uk's jemini and scooch and other western countries put in some right old tripe i say give some credit to the newer countries for some good songs, serbia, bosnia, greece, turkey, have amongst others raised the barwhilst the old brigade entered some tired old songs and some rather talentless singers |

Re: Points/Qualification History
I agree, the Big-4 don't really take it seriously. But, you can't fail to notice the Bloc clique and fervent supporters of Turkey and Greece.
Thank Sqaull for this... Eurovision Song Contest 2009 - Wikipedia It illustrates the lack of support for western entries. Look at France and UK in particular. Then look at the Jury/Viewer difference for Albania and Russia. |
