Re: Israel
We can only hope that next year they do something to redress the balance a little more. I agree tho - I realised as it wasn't even close that Israel(and Portugal), who had stonking songs, well presented, beutifully sung, couldn't have won, no matter how good the performance. That's a pretty horrid message for the contest.
Unfortunately, both nations will probably be delighted with their showing, whereas really they should be wondering how they entered about the best vocalists they could, and were still a country mile behind. Of course we know all this beforehand, but I sat down, analysed it carefully, and was convinced Israel could go close. Probably not win no, but get within 50-75 points maybe. 150 tho. As I say its the degree to which it happened - so far ahead. I dread to think how many votes Russia and Greece would get if they actually entered a good vocalist and strong song ![]() Last edited by Beanie : 25-05-2008 at 00:25. |

Re: Israel
Even pissing me off more is those voting results from the semi with Portugal 2nd. That's what I was buying into and the fact the odds plummetted quite dramatically.... Bastards.
Those Saturday night, drunken audiences. That's still the best Eurovision performance I've ever seen. Pisses me off. Errrr, fuck you Brucie. |
