As 3 spanish teams are involved here, opinions from our spanish tipsters would be welcomed.

I was thinking of going for the unders @ the Osasuna game but the odds made me think twice. Not much value there I guess.

Re: UEFA cup semis

Given the odds for unders/overs in Osasuna v Sevilla, Galilee, I'd be more inclined to go for the overs, it's certainly much better value, and I'd say it stands a reasonable chance of coming in.

Sevilla's last 4 games in Europe have been overs (2-1 and 2-2 v Spurs, 2-2 and 2-2 v Shakhtar). They've also scored at least 2 goals in all their away games in this competition except for the very first one, v Liberec.

They may well look to grab an early goal (like they did away to Spurs in the UEFA and away to Deportivo in the Copa del Rey), if that happens Osasuna would be forced to go in search of an equaliser, leaving Sevilla free to play on the counter-attack, and they can be lethal in that kind of situation, as Deportivo found out in the Copa del Rey (it finished up 3-0 to Sevilla).

Having said that, Osasuna's defence has been pretty solid in the knock-out phase of the UEFA cup, only 1 goal conceded in 6 games, and they've only conceded one goal at home in the competition (and that was on own goal, v OB in the group stages).

If you asked me to choose, I'd just about edge towards unders, but as you say, at the price, there's no value in that.

Re: UEFA cup semis

Might give that one a miss after all rc. I had in mind results in the league mostly, as I guess they are more relevant than results at the uefa cup, even if it's a european competition game.

Sevilla have not scored in 6 out of 7 last away games (at the other one they managed 4 against Levante, but I think Levante had a rather naive approach in that game, leaving too much space for counter attacks).

Osasuna's last 6 home games for the league were all unders and having watched some of their games this season I was quite impressed by their defensive efforts as the whole team seems to be defending when they don't have the ball.

Of course, you are absolutely right saying that an early Sevilla goal might just open the game up and at these odds unders is not particularly intriguing. As I said in the beginning I might just leave it alone.

Re: UEFA cup semis

i'm going to back sevilla here tonight basically because they've impressed me when i've watched them - the times i've saw them they've been attach minded and with tonights leg being away i think they'll try and score at least once to make 2nd leg slightly easier.

Osasuna didn't impress against a poor rangers outfit and that's why i think sevilla will progress to next round

Sevilla scored 3 goals in La Coruna, in spanish cup like a week ago, plus 4 in levante thats 7 in two last games.

Re: UEFA cup semis

It's 4 past Bilbao you probably mean and you are absolutely correct.

That does not change the fact however that they failed to score in away games against Valencia (2-0), Osasuna (0-0), Taragona (1-0), Getafe (0-0), Betis (0-0). These are their five last away games in La Primera.

Osasuna - Sevilla
I fancy Osasuna and under....
Osasuna is playing much better in UEFA cup and t they are completely focused on this game ,Milošević, Patxi Puñal, Enrique Corrales and Roberto Soldado are available again.
Sevilla is still in the race for the Primera title and they are playing excellent in UEFA they didn`t loss away game this season in UEFA 2-3-0,for this match Ramos can also recall key men with Andrés Palop, Frédéric Kanouté and Adriano Correia all fit to start.
H2H:
*Osasuna is having good record at home they didn`t lost from 1998 :7-3-0

Espanyol-Werder
Espanyol:
suspended: defenders Pablo Zabaleta and Francisco Chica and forward Luis García.

Werder:
Pierre Wome,Tim Borowski, and Per Mertesacke are out for Werder.

I realy don`t know how important are those missing players for Werder becouse I don`t follow German football but if I`m not wrong they still have excellent attack with Klose and Diego up front and I think this game is going to be a goal fest and I’m going with over and small bet on Werder .

Re: UEFA cup semis

ffice:smarttags" />Seville look a small value shout tonight. They’ve impressed me everytime that I have seen them with Kanoute in particular having a fantastic season. Osasuna have fired blanks in 6 of their last 10 domestic games (3 in 5 home and 3 in 5 away). They haven’t won in 6 domestic games at home. The draw is however a real danger with Osasuna drawing with Valencia, Barcelona and Seville recently. Its hard to know what way Seville will approach this. Last season they kept it tight away in Schalke in the first leg and knowing their home form is so strong they might play this cagy as well. Stakes small here.
fficeffice" />
Valencia @ 2.48 (Betfair) 1 Unit

A nice short price on the game is on first ½ goals. Betfair have 1.39 available at present for 1.5 or less (i.e no more than 1 goal) but it might go out a bit. In 7 home European games this season they have yet to be more than 1 in the first half of an Osasun home game . In their 15 homes La Liga games only three times have they conceded more than 1 in the first ½ .

Less than 1.5 Goals first half @ 1.39 (Betfair) 2 Units

I’d fancy Werder to get something at Espanyol. The Spanish having gone 3 up at home in the first leg vs Benefica in the quarters conceded two in 5 minutes. They were battered from the highlights I saw in the return leg with their goalie playing a stormer in a scoreless shut out. Schalke beat them 3-0 at home at the quarter final stage last season and I’d rate Werder at as good as Schalke (finished 9 points above them last season and neck and neck this season). The Germans have lost on the road domestically only to Schalke and Stuttgart. European form definitely more mixed but they get plenty of goals and it should be an entertaining game. I got on at 2.76 and steady support has seen that price pushed down to 2.7.

Werder @ 2.76 (Betfair) 2 Units
Draw Saver @ 3.25 1 Unit

Re: UEFA cup semis

Haven't Espanyol won all their home games in this so far? They do score a few there too I think. I could be with you on the overs there Igor. I'm away for a look.

Re: UEFA cup semis

Thanks again Igor. That's put me off the overs a bit actually. Bremen may well be quite happy to keep things tight here as they're looking pretty formidable at home going by those results. Having said that, Espanyol will be well aware of how difficult it will be over there and will need to push. Oh my. Quite a tricky one this.

Wittmann could be right in favouring Bremen but Espanyol are a capable side on their own patch. Couple of defenders out though and a forward. Does anyone know if they've been regulars for Espanyol in this? If you don't have the info to hand don't worry, I'll go have a look.

Re: UEFA cup semis

Maybe this could help, stats from Primera....

Pablo Zabaleta -M -14 games
Francisco Chica- D - 21 games
Luis García- F - 26 games 10 goals.
Quote:
Although García - who has scored six UEFA Cup goals this term - will be sorely missed, Valverde can at least welcome back Tamudo, who was absent from the return in Lisbon.
