TNS v Liverpool(19th July)

Will make this a separate thread so as not to confuse the vBookie event on tomorrow nights games.

Other two games today have already started, but we'll get some bets up for this one...

After the success of Gerrard to score anytime last time out, lets try for something similar.

I've read enough to convinve me that Cisse is the call tonight. He scored 2 v Leverkusen at a similarly low key venue/game, and looks to have reclaimed the pace and power he showed pre-leg break. Baros won't play tonight so Cisse should get a long run out.

Stick up your fancies for this one...

I have already taken:

Cisse Anytime 10/11 B365

It was posted elsewhere on the web that he will definitely start the game so seems good value seeing as other bookies go as short as 8/15. Good record recently too

Aye, looks like I've missed the boat on the 10/11 Chips, and might be stuck with 4/5. I'll see if there's any action towards 1.90-1.95 on Betfair.

Totesport have it at 1.50

Re: TNS v Liverpool(19th July)

I like the Gerrard one again to be honest. Last week he was evens to score anytime. Now he is 13/8 :yikes

TNS really struggled to match his runs from midfield to attack and i dont see much changing tonight.

I really fancy Liverpool to win by a bigger margin this week and score 1, or more goals than last time.

I have read that Benetiz will be fielding one of his strongest sides as he doesn't want any problems to happen and wants the game won quickly.

Cisse would be a good choice aswell i reckon. TNS have to try and make some sort of attacks on their home patch and Cisse's pace and Alonso's vision should catch them out more times than not.

totally agree with you kiko -TNS are playing at the Racecourse Wrexham - an away fixture for both teams - Liverpool played a friendly there about 10 to 14 days ago. I was expecting Liverpool to score 6+ last week - the should have - TNS goalie stopped quite a few.McKenna TNS manager has said his players are "tired and injured- and weve only had six days to recover-which is no time at all" .
TNS are a class side in the league of Wales , and are streets ahead of the others but it is totally different class -the team is made up of failed lower league scousers. If the score had been 6-0 last week this would have been a non-game - now Liverpool have a strong side with a point to prove.
I reckon Liverpool will be 3 or 4 goals up in the first half so that they can bring their youngsters on.

cheers

Re: TNS v Liverpool(19th July)

I was one of the few that didn't expect a humping last week, hence why i bet on TNS with the handicap.

Todays game should settle Liverpool much more - your getting 3.25 for there to be most goals in the first half which i think is a great bet, as like you said - Liverpool will try and get the job done quick then bring on their youngsters in the second half.

Another bet that caught my eye was any substitute to score with Paddy Power at 2.75.

Re: TNS v Liverpool(19th July)

I've decided to go for 6 or more goals with betfair @5.9
and half time score of any unquoted which has 3-0 and upwards.

lets hope for a goalfest

edit i've just had a large punt on Liverpool -2.5 @2.0 with V.C.
this is great value IMO.

CHEERS AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL

Re: TNS v Liverpool(19th July)

Have taken Liverpool -2.5 at 2.10 with Betdaq.

Last week was TNS's "cup final", packed Anfield, once in a lifetime event etc. A bit more down market tonight and maybe their players won't be as "up for it". For Liverpool its another step to match fitness and they will no doubt use it as a good workout, will be looking to knock the ball about and pick up match sharpness. That could be trouble for TNS who have no chance of matching the speed and skill of Pool.

It will be a difficult game for TNS physically and mentally as they will not be used to the level of movement that they face tonight. They will also be spending long periods of time without the ball and chasing it all over the park. You can only keep that effort up for so long and without the adrenaline of playing at a packed Anfield I can see them struggling much sooner than last week.

It should have been 6+ last week and would have been bar some poor finishing from Morientes and the keepers game of his life. Can see it being 5+ possibly tonight if Liverpool push for 90 minutes and the tired legs hit TNS early on.

Well ive not put my bets on yet - i was waiting for the starting line ups.

Have they been released yet? As Gerrard has gone into 4s on Betfair from 2.62?

Reina, Finnan, Hyypia, Riise, Cisse, Le Tallec, Alonso, Hamann, Carragher, Zenden, Potter. Subs: Carson, Gerrard, Garcia, Josemi, Morientes, Warnock, Whitbread.

Just got the line ups now.

Going to change my Gerrard anytime bet to Le Tallec anytime at 2.8 on Betfair.
