Re: Europa League 22-24th Feb
City on the handicap looks solid, to be honest I don't trust Liverpool yet, they have looked awful for most of the season and have not convinced in Europe. City have shown respect to the comp and I don't really think Liverpool have..Aris have a poor away record even for a poor league like the Greek one, I got the feeling at the end of the game last week they were just delighted to keep the unbeaten home run going, City look massive favourites..Aris have won 2 from 11 in all comps which is crap for this level and have scored 7 goals in that time of which 5 came in 2 matches! I will be taking City heavy on the handicap but also looking at a bit on City to win to nil..
Aris know the class difference, they did alright in the home leg and had a few chances but City should really have won, I can virtually guarantee that they will just come to defend for 90 mins and even if they don't it will play into City's hands, I did watch their 2-3 away win to Athletico earlier in the comp but when you look at their results as a whole this appears to be a one-off. Mancini virtually said after the first game that he fully expects them to win the home leg and make no mistake its an important comp for City, Mancini is doing well this season but could obviously do with a bit of silverware. I wouldn't expect a total first XI from City but they have one of the best squads in Europe and they should have more than enough.. Man City -1.5AH 1.7 (Bet365) 6.5/10 I love Zenit as a team, they don't get a lot of credit imo but the bookies have them at 1.2 which is too skinny, they didn't look all that good last week, prob due to the lay off they have had, City look a much safer bet to me.. Like CSKA, PAOK are playing lousy at the min, didn't watch the first leg though so would like some intelligent comment on it if there is any going, CSKA have looked pretty solid whenever I have watched them.. Weather also may be a big factor, -15 expected in Moscow and not much better in Kiev.. |
