Re: Champions League 23-24th Nov
I think those odds reflect the uncertainty as to what sort of team Madrid will put out given they've got Barca at the weekend.
I think Arsenal have to much for Braga and will want to bounce back from the disappointing second half at the weekend. |

Re: Champions League 23-24th Nov
When have you known Mourinho to play a shadow squad? They play Barca on Mon night which is almost a week away! That being said Khedira, Carvalho and Higuain are injured but the only one of them I would worry about would be Khedira, personally think Higuain is a bit overrated, have to see how Benzema gets on tonight line-up is apparently (Marca) going to be;
-----------------------------Casillas------------------------------- ----Arbeloa------Ramos-----------Marcelo-----------Albiol----- ------------------Xabi-------------Lass--------------------------- -----------Leon------------Oezil-----------Ronaldo-------------- -------------------------Benzema--------------------------------- This would have Pepe (CB) and Di Maria (Winger) are apparently being rested but Leon is a decent player and given the opposition they have more than a good shout. I don't expect Mourinho to field a weak side and even if he did it would still have enough about it to compete with a struggling Ajax side. This was certainly the surprising price of the day and Mourinho is always keen to keep a side winning whatever the competition is, it is a good habit to have and he will know that if they don't win tomorrow and lose on Monday there will be talk of a 'crisis' just because of the way the media work.. Ajax are a good side for Madrid to be playing, they are not as strong as Madrid obviously, but they are also struggling for form currently, PSV prob should have won their game at the weekend and a Ajax side that could not stop scoring at one time now looks to be struggling in front of goal..I think Suarez is either a bit distracted by the rumours around him or beginning to believe his own importance to Ajax, I hope its not the second as he seems like quite a genuine player who works hard for the side but no-one can deny he is looking a bit troubled at the minute and if he isn't on the ball and at the pivot of the creativity Ajax struggle to get going..El Hamdaoi is a decent goalscorer but I don't think he is in Suarez's class although his goals against Heerenveen recently were world class, if the team is not clicking though I don't think he is the man to change things. Real Madrid 0,-0.5AH 1.98 (stanjames) Also expect Arsenal to win tonight, the price is being warped by the fact it is a european game but Braga have lost the last couple in the league and are certainly not looking as strong as they were last season, we all remember the 6-0 score in the reverse game obviously..wouldn't class Braga in Arsenal's league even if they do try and play the same style of football. Cesc is likely to be missing as I think Wenger still has some concerns about his hamstring judging by his comments yesterday, that is a blow but it shouldn't be above Arsenal to get the three points considering they have taken a strong squad over and they can't afford to let Shakhtar overtake them after the upset in the last round of matches. Auxerre - Milan
Pick Milan to win @ 2.1 bet365 Milan need to win this to assure themselves of the qualification to the next round. Milan simply has the firepower needed through Ibrahimovic, Pato or Inzaghi though they will be missing the wizard from the middle of the field Andrea Pirlo, Luca Antonini, Massimo Oddo all with thigh problems. Even so, with this victory, and with a negative result for Ajax (v Real Madrid), Milan can very much be sure of their qualification to the last 16. Last edited by Duke_Tm : 23-11-2010 at 16:54. |

Partizan - Shakthar
Pick Shakthar to win @ 1.72 bet365 With Partizan out of the fight it's all about Braga and Shakthar for the 2nd team that will go through to the last 16. Shakthar will give their best to win this game and take an important step to qualifying further in the competition, a step that they are searching for for some seasons now but unsuccessfully haven't reached their goal. They will definitely search for it tonight and I'll back them to do so. The Serbs be the last in the group but they definitely won't be as concentrated and determined as the Ukrainians. Good luck! |

I'd be tempted by Partizan on the double chance too, there is little value for me on Shakhtar at that price..

Re: Champions League 23-24th Nov
hastgill1 makes compelling arguments for real and arsenal, i'm in full agreement, they'll be part of my acca.
Bendtner anytime 9/5 Paddy Power, he'll want to prove a point to Wenger tonight. When he has played this season he has looked dangerous so i'm plumping for him again. Ronaldo anytime too, 5/6 Paddy Power, the only time pre-xmas you can get value on Ronaldo anytime scorer is away in europe, and he does deliver in the league in fairness to the lad, i'm hoping he'll carry it onto this stage tonight. |

Re: Champions League 23-24th Nov
Good call Grim, I should know by now that Mourinho always comes good.
Sounds like Arsenal never got going which surprised me as I thought they'd be fired up after spurs match. |
