Absolute insane price that is and you won't find them that price too often at home.

United have set up counter attacking but i am quite happy with Barca line up. As Spacecat says they are being hugely underestimated for this game.

Had heart in mouth straight off from pen

Decent sized bet for me.

GL.

It's a loser but on reflection it was a decent shout at that price and unlucky Kiko.

What baffles me is how United are still odds on to go through. I really can't see Barca not scoring at OT as United can't play the ten men behind the ball boring tactics that they played tonight at home. Sir Alex shit his pants and parked the bus in front of the goal.

Ferdinand didn't do much wrong tonight. He'll need another 90 minutes concentration to stop Barca.

Well I think theyll probably win at home so it makes sense to me. All opinions of course but I think theyll win the home leg bit more than 50% of the time, theyve really really been doing the business at this season at Old Trafford. From what Ive heard Barca aint that great away and ship some goals

If they give Barca an inch of space at home theyll be punished.

Despite what Sky Sports say, Henry, Messi and Eto'o are better than Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney..! Especially at hitting teams quick and hard.

I can understand them being favourites, personally. What I can't understand is why you can currently get 1.94 on Betfair for Man Utd to win the 2nd leg, and only 1.68 for them to qualify. There are only two ways they can qualify - winning, or drawing 0-0 and then coming through in extra time/pens, and I really can't see another 0-0 at Old Trafford. If you think Man Utd are going to pull through then surely you're much better off going for the 1.94 on them to win the 2nd leg (and perhaps covering the 0-0 correct score) than you are with the 1.68 for them to qualify.

It seems to me quite a few people on here are over-estimating Barcelona. This isn't the Barcelona that dominated Spain in recent years. This is a side struggling to even claim 2nd place in their division ahead of Villarreal and 11pts behind a Madrid side that have been pretty poor for large parts of the season. And as Muze has said, their away form is poor too - just 4 away wins from 16 games, 3 of them against sides in the bottom 5. Their last 4 away games have seen them concede 11 goals (and score 8) - 2-2 draws at Almeria and 18th placed Huelva, a 3-2 defeat (having led 2-0 after 15 mins) at Betis and a 4-2 defeat at Atletico Madrid.

I'd disagree with that personally. Henry was better a few years ago, but he's been a shadow of his former self since he moved to Spain. Whether being back in England might reignite some spark in him, I don't know, but Barcelona will be happy to be rid of him at the end of the season. Messi is a fantastic player, but last night he clearly wasn't fully fit. A few times he tried his trademark runs at defenders and he just didn't have the pace he usually has to get past them. Will have to see whether he's in top condition by next week. Eto'o is a quality striker, but you don't get the team work helping out all over the pitch from him that you get from someone like Rooney.

Re: 22-23 Apr: Champions League

I watch Spanish football every week too and I dont believe this Barca side is anywhere near as weak as their 3rd in the league position or recent results suggest they are, youd think they were 3rd bottom the way some folk talk online. Obviously Rijkaard will be out on his arse this summer for losing the league consistency but for me that doesnt matter to fuck in European competition, Liverpool being the best possible example! They couldve lost 10-0 to Athletico and still turned up to face United in the right frame of mind.

I'm confident they will dominate the second leg as they did last night, United will give them more space, we'll see goals

Re: 22-23 Apr: Champions League

I'm not saying they're a weak side, but I certainly think they're a side in decline, and to a certain extent they're suffering from a touch of the "galacticos" problem that has affected Madrid in recent years. Ronaldinho was a liability for a long time, and why they felt the need to buy Henry with the attacking options they already had available, and then shove him out on the wing half the time because it's the only way they could fit him in, is anyone's guess.

They've looked poor to me this season, I'd say Villarreal deserve 2nd place, and it's Barça's away form which has cost them. They won 8 away last season, 10 the year before that and 11 the year before that. So far this year they've won 4 (with 3 away games to play). Some of them are understandable, but failing to beat ANY of the likes of Osasuna, Valladolid, Getafe, Betis, Almeria or Huelva would've been unthinkable for the Barcelona sides of recent years, and doesn't bode well for a trip to Old Trafford.

Still, as you say, domestic form and European form are two different things, but I still make Man Utd favourites.

IMO it has no bearing on their trip to Old Trafford whatsoever, its a cup final. Valencia have been shite all season and have a trophy in the bag, Barca could easily do the same.

We'll find out soon enough

It's a cup final, but unfortunately for them it's not being played at a neutral ground, it's being played at the ground of a team who've won 16 of their 18 home games this season in the league, and have won all of their European home games so far. Admittedly few of those were against sides comparable to Barcelona, but Old Trafford has still been a fortress this season.

I assume you're going to be on Barcelona, and good luck to you, but personally I'd be very surprised if they make it through to the final and I'll be on Manchester United myself.
