I suppose it depends where you live cause the Liverpool game is on ITV London ??? 963 I think or something in that area but with it being the London ITV surely you'd think they'd show the Chelsea game ?

Il Romanista has Roma fielding: Doni; Cicinho, Mexes, Ferrari, Tonetto; DeRossi, Pizarro; Taddei, Giuly, Esposito; Totti

That is pretty close to full strength against a Manchester mostly reserve team. Roma should have no problem - even with Rooney wearing the arm band!

Fenerbahce -1.5 looks like a good bet as well. They need to win to be sure to qualify and are great at home. CSKA are missing a lot of players and their league has been done for a month.

Re: Champions League - 11/12th Decemeber

Well i will be on Lyon tonight to twrt the Rangers bid. I would have to check stats but i would rather be on Rangers away from home. i would need to know more but i would take Lyon on the 'scottish Teams to fcuk up' alone. from what ive read in the papers and my general 'feel' about the game i think Lyon are a crcking bet. anyone disagree?

well i'm away to post the games here-

Rangers host Lyon looking for just a point to seal their progress to the knock-out phase of the Champions League on what should be a highly-charged Wednesday night at Ibrox.

Walter Smith's side will be fresh after their request to have the weekend clash with Gretna postponed was granted by the SPL while Lyon suffered a shock 1-0 away defeat to Caen.

That said, star names such as Juninho, Sidney Govou, Fabio Grosso and rising star Karim Benzema were either left out altogether or restricted to substitute appearances in preparation for the European clash and we therefore can't read too much into this defeat.

The French outfit do still have a four-point cushion at the top of their domestic league although three of their four defeats this season have come away from home while they were also brushed aside 3-0 at the Nou Camp in the Champions League.

Rangers, by contrast, have a supreme home record in Europe and will take some beating on Wednesday night.

They've lost just four of their last 45 games in European competition and during this campaign they defeated Stuttgart having come from a goal down while a tremendous defensive display saw them grind out a goalless draw with Barcelona.

Alain Perrin's men simply have to win but to do this they'll have to overcome Smith's staunch 4-1-4-1 system which is designed to frustrate. Apart from the games in Stuttgart and Barcelona it's worked a treat and has put Rangers tantilisingly close to the next round.

From a betting perspective it's hard to predict a Rangers victory given they will be quite happy to play for a draw but on the other hand we're extremely confident they have the character and desire in front of their own fans to hold firm against a side they beat 3-0 in the reverse fixture at the Stade Gerland.

Therefore we're going for a draw which is best priced at 23/10 with totesport while the no goalscorer bet at 17/2 with VC Bet also has some appeal.

Meanwhile at the Stadio Olimpico Manchester United look a huge price at 3/1 to claim victory in their Champions League Group F dead rubber with Roma.

However, although Wayne Rooney is expected to be captain United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is committed to playing most of his fringe players, with many of his senior stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez remaining in Manchester.

Both sides have already qualified for the next round and with United already securing top spot it's hard to imagine Roma being particularly motivated either.

The home win is therefore too short at 10/11 so arguably the best bet is to back Rooney at a generous 3/1 with William Hill to score anytime.

He may not get the top notch service he'd normally be used to but it's important to remember he scored the only goal of the last meeting between the sides at Old Trafford while he also struck in both games against Dynamo Kiev.

The other tie involving a British side on Wednesday night is Arsenal's home encounter with Steaua Bucharest and once again there is very little on the line.

Should the Gunners win, they can claim top spot in the group should Sevilla fail to beat Slavia Prague but this won't stop Arsene Wenger fielding a weak side, especially with a huge weekend clash with Chelsea on the horizon.

That said Arsenal should have few problems picking up three points in this one given the standard of their opposition.

Steaua have been dour during the campaign and only have one point to their name from five games. To their credit they don't concede many but scoring is a big problem and it's hard to see them celebrating a goal at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal's talented youngsters.

With that in mind the best option would be Paddy Power's 10/11 about the hosts winning to nil or Theo Walcott scoring anytime at 9/4 with Sky Bet.

The young striker could lead the line and we feel he can repeat his exploits of the home match with Slavia Prague, where he netted twice in an amazing 7-0 triumph

Re: Champions League - 11/12th Decemeber

Sporting Lisbon vs Dinamo Kiev

Olexandr Shovkovskiy (ankle) and Pape Diakhate (shoulder) are out until the new year, while Vitaliy Mandzyuk (knee) is also out long term.

Badr El Kaddouri and Vitaliy Fedoriv are unlikely to recover from knee injuries for some time while Ayila Yussuf (groin) and Taras Mikhalik (knee) will also miss the visit to the Portuguese capital.

Dynamo have also lost their entire Brazilian contingent. Rodrigo and Kleber (both knee) have undergone surgery, Michael and Diogo Rincon have been allowed home to recuperate and Carlos Correa is out until January with knee ligament damage.

Thats 12 players that have not travelled to Portugal . And add to that the fact that the Sporting manager says they want go out with a win , by scoring goals and keeping a clean sheet . They have start striker Liedson back. Sporting won in Kiev 2-1 , and will surely win here to make Kiev only the 6th team to go through the group stages without picking up a single point .

4/6 Bet direct - GET ON !!!

Re: Champions League - 11/12th Decemeber

I agree with you on Roma and Sp Lisbon and that may well be it cause other games I think are either 2 tight or odds to miserable.

It'll be interesting to see what tactics Walter Smith decides to use. I think he'll go 4-5-1 with Cousin playing up fron alone initially. No bet for me but I think Lyon will upset the party.

I'm sure he does. I'm also sure that if you'd asked him before the start of the group, he'd have said they wanted to finish in the top 2 and get through to the next stage. They didn't do it though.

There's nothing whatsoever at stake on the game, Sporting can thrash them 6-0 and they'll be in the UEFA cup, they can get thrashed 0-6 and they'll be in the UEFA Cup.

Good luck with your bet, but the price doesn't look particularly tempting to me on what's basically a meaningless game.
