Re: Champions League: 23/24th Oct

I'm amazed Benfica are not about 1.60. Seems they have injury problems in attack but given Celtic's current form - very poor performances and only 2 very late goals against Gretna in their last 2 games, their CL away form, and a 3-0 drubbing in Lisbon at the same stage last season, Benfica should win.

This dreadful away form in the CL must end sometime and it will most likely happen when least expected. Anything from the match would be great for Celtic but the smart money will be on the Portuguese at these sort of odds.

Re: Champions League: 23/24th Oct

some decent choices this week in champions league :

1. chelsea
2.arsenal
3. milan
4.lyon.
5.barcelona
6.sevilla

real madrid :NO BET

i cant place 6 probabilities in a single coupon, i have to match up against probabilities, but definetely ALL of them are potentialy great winners,chelsea arsenal milan sevilla, ole ole, the big four coupon

waiting to read opinions

as for milan, i watched them against empoli, pure disaster, shame, but i expect champions to react, i can not imagine this team to play like s*hit, something is wrong obviously, they didnt refresh their material for years now, but again shactar what is guys? better than empoli? no chance

ukrainians are doomed to end in milano, the champions will react, personally i am expecting big explosion,lets see....

Couldn't agree more Para. From what I hear I don't think Benfica have been great so far this season but there's not a case to be made for Celtic getting a result here. Recent League form, injuries and the dire CL away record makes anything above evens on Benfica look like a steal.

Hey martens,

I'd go easy on Barca. Walter Smith has Rangers set up not to get beat, even at Ibrox he'll go with just one up front and try to flood the midfield. Physically they'll match and for the most part beat Barca. I suspect they'll sit in deep and allow Barca to knock the ball around in front of them. Barca have a few injuries and with both teams on 6 points I think a draw will suit them. 1-1 for me.

Re: Champions League: 23/24th Oct

Stuttgart – Lyon

The champions from Germany and France are meeting in Stuttgart with goals to keep their hopes for advancing into the next stage, or taking the third place at least, a live. They had very slow starts of the season, both in domestic championship and in Champions League.

Lyon after the two starting losses in domestic championship, improved their game a lot and won 8 of their last 9 matches and they are unbeaten in 9 matches in a row, if we exclude the two defeats in Champions League from Barcelona and Rangers. Lyon is still without Coupet and Cris, but the forward Fred is fit again

Stuttgart became a champion last season in Germany and instead strengthening the squad they lost several players and brought some average players. I was pretty much convinced that this team cannot fight on two fronts and they proved me that I am right. Stuttgart is currently 14th in German Bundesliga, winning only at home against teams with poor quality like Cottbus, Duisburg and Bochum. In addition to their poor form, they have some important absences (Hitzlsperger, da Silva, Magnin and Boka) which will make this match even harder to them.

Both teams desperately needs points from this match, especially the host team, because if they lose this match, they will have only theory left if they want to go into the next round of Champions League. Stuttgart will try to get three points here and their strongest weapon is the attack line composed with Gomes and Cacao and they know that draw is not making any good to them and even more the weak, leaking defense will force them to decide the match with offense. Lyon also is having great attack, leaded by inform Benzema and they are attacking team also, so goals should not be a problem tonight. I rate Lyon a better team, team with better individuals, with better form and with absences that Stuttgart has, I rate them as favorites for this match.

Pick no.1: Lyon (0) --> Odds: 1.91 @ StanJames --> Stake: 5u
Pick no.2: over 1.5 goal --> Odds: 1.38 @ Bwin --> Stake: 7u

I agree. Ibrox should be insane after the win over Celtic. Plus Ronaldinho has not played with them since the International break and Gudjohnsen is expected to make his first appearance of the season. I like Rangers +0.75.

Roma -1 V Lisbon
There has been a lot written about Roma's poor form as of late, but I don't see it. In every match this season - other than against Inter in which they were down a man - Roma controlled the play. They have an amazing midfield and Totti is as good as ever. Obviously some defensive blunders, but I do not think Lisbon are good enough to exploit in Rome. Roma need the win more than Lisbon need a draw, so expect Roma to attack (even more than usual) Roma should win by at least a goal, but probably more.

I'm with you Zozo as I think Lyon are the best bet of the evening. OK they got gubbed 3-0 by Rangers but I think they are a better team than Stuttgart and I would have priced them about 6/4 tbh and anything above that is a bonus so seeing the 10/11 about them on the Asian is a decent price.

Ladbrokes have them a very stingy 7/5.

Can anybody advise the Sky and Stan James prices please
