Bit of Barca team news from the BBC...

Quote:
Barcelona are facing an injury crisis ahead of the Group E match. Deco is out for five weeks, striker Samuel Eto'o is still sidelined, while Yaya Toure, Gianluca Zambrotta, Edmilson and Rafael Marquez miss out.
Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and Gabi Milito all missed training on Sunday but will travel to Scotland
Liverpool...

Torres still out.

Quote:
Alvaro Arbeloa (thigh) is also out but midfielder Xabi Alonso could play after recovering from a metatarsal problem.
Besiktas goalkeeper Hakan Arikan has not recovered from a stomach injury and will be replaced by Rustu Recber

Thanks for that betfly

I've taken the 6/4 about Lyon and I've also backed Inter Milan.

Game is currently 1-1 so it's not really after eventing but when the game was about to kick of I checked the priced and the where 2.04 -0.5 on the asian - I thought this was a steal considering they where 8/11 on Lads coupon.

Ibrohimavich couldn't hit my arse with a cricket bat never mind the back of the net.

Going round to my brothers to watch Rangers game with keg

dont want to burst the bubble and put a hoodoo on it but Rangers are doing ok - never saw the Cousin chance but supposedly he should have done better. Barca have created good chances but fortunately none have been converted.

Got lucky with Inter cause what a fecking howler from CSKA keeper but them are the breaks

Re: Champions League: 23/24th Oct

Werder Bremen – Lazio

The departure of Klose and huge injury crisis had huge influence of this season’s Werder performances. They are not playing as confident as they did in previous seasons. Their attack is not so lethal and the defense is leaking. After 8:1 win against Bielefeld, everyone expected another inspirational performance from the team and no one questioned taking the three points from poor visitor Olympiakos, but Werder conceded an equalizer and then opened the game and conceded two more. Now, if they fail to win, next stage of Champions League will remain only a dream.

Lazio is struggling in domestic championship despite the away win against Livorno in previous round. Still they had some great performances, like that against Real Madrid three weeks ago when they completely outplayed the big opponent. But, Lazio is playing much worse on their away matches and it is not great when the opponent have the possession (we saw what happened when Milan got the possession against them) and tonight Werder will have the possession, without a doubt and they will attack hard, in order to take desperately needed three points.

Werder still has many absences, Hunt, Baumann and Carlos Alberto are out and Owomoyela and Wome are doubtful. Lazio will have to play without Siviglia, Mauri and Ledesma.

Werder desperately needs win here and Lazio is not good away team and with leaky defense that they have matched with this German attacking machinery leaded by Diego, I think that failure against Olympiakos is very unlikely to happen once again.

Pick: Werder Bremen --> Odds: 1.83 @ Bet365 --> Stake: 5u

---

Rosenborg – Valencia

Rosenborg despite the draw away at Chelsea is not a team that can compete against top European teams. They even are having big difficulties in their domestic competition, conceding a lot of goals and not performing well. In their last match they were completely outplayed and trashed by Lillestrom, but maybe for that poor performance was keeping the strengths for this match. Rosenborg is having big internal problems too.

Valencia is having pretty good team for this season composed of many talented players. They started this Champions League campaign very well after undeserved win against Schalke, but then they lost undeservedly, after good performance by trouble-hit Chelsea. Valencia this season managed to win all matches that they played away, both in La Liga and Champions League.

Rosenborg will be without they key player Iversen, and Valencia cannot count on Vicente and Edu.

Valencia is much better opponent in every aspect of the game and probably they will control the game because they are technique superior team here. Morientes – Zigic tandem upfront supported from pretty good wings will cause enormous troubles to Rosenborg defense. Rosenborg will try to take something from this match with their physical approach, but I think that Valencia is stronger on that field too. The cold weather will be ally to the home team, but Valencia quality should be too much for below-average Norwegian team.

Pick: Valencia --> Odds: 1.62 @ Ladbrokes --> Stake: 7u

Old acquaintances meet again in Champions League. Real have five victories while Olympiakos managed to outmatch them only once in Pirej in a match that was of no significance for Real.

Real suffered their first defeat in Primera on the road against Espanyol. Bernd Schusters team again gave a faint performance on the road which showed to be their biggest problem this season. Moreover because every match they lay at home is more significant and means more pressure. Many think that the reason for their faint play are the often changes in the line up. The problem with the fatigue and the tardiness of the players after the international matches didnt bypass Real. First on the carpet was Robinho who was late to come back to Madrid because of the orgies in Rio after Brazil won Ecuador. Additional problem are the injuries of certain players so this time Robben and Heinze together with Peppe will be out of the team. Metzelder comes back in the team. Still Schuster have enough quality players so we can expect the game which will bring the hosts to the head of the group.

On the other hand Olympiakos managed to win Werder after 31 games in Europe without away win. Team improved their quality when they hired experienced players. Aside from Djurdjevic who played in the duel of these rivals in 1997 together with Raul, there are also former player of real Raul Bravo, then Galetti and experienced Kovacevic. The last three played in Spain and their experience is definitely needed at Bernabe. Still it is hard to believe that the Greeks can do more. They surely earned the first place but it seems that the second place is the best they can do.

All in all the crucial fact is that Real play excellently at Bernabe, while Olympiakos are desperate on the road except in the last round when they won Werder.

as specs said to much missing important players on RM
prediction Home Win 2-1 so i,m going with Olympiakos + 1.75 asian hdp
Over 2.5 to cover

I agree with both of these picks. Both sides have some injury problems, but Bremen's are starting to look better with players coming back. And Lazio's coach more or less said that this is just a fun competition for them, while Bremen are taking it very seriously.

Rosenborg are having domestic problems and their coach may be sacked. I don't think they will recreate their herocis against Chelsea. Valencia need this one and should get it.

Re: Champions League: 23/24th Oct

agree with zozo n goldenleg on bremen

lazio squad:
32)Ballotta, 10)Baronio, 85)Behrami, 81)Del Nero, 29)De Silvestri, 4)Firmani, 3)Kolarov, 20)Makinwa, 68)Manfredini, 23)Meghni, 26)Mudingayi, 1)Muslera, 5)Mutarelli, 19)Pandev, 18)Rocchi, 6)Scaloni, 2)Stendardo, 17)Tare, 8)Zauri

big problem in defence (no cribari and sivigla) and midfield (no ladesma and mauri), goalkeeper ballota to old

bremen Hugo Almeida and Clementz Fritz declared fit, frings and borowski back in midfield

asia offer bremen -0.5 @1.79 or -0.75 @2.04
already put 3pts on bremen -0.5. will put some more on livebet

Dont want to spoil the party, but I dont rate Werder Bremen at all. I will put few quids on Lazio not to lose at around 2,05.
