After Rangers demolition of Lyon last night, another great night for Scottish football, with the reigning champions humbled at Parkhead to put Celtic back in the race for qualification. For all they are very poor away in this competition, their home form is second to none and this was another wonderful result.
Must admit I'm a bit concerned about the outcome of the incident involving Dida and the celebrating Celtic fan who tapped him on the high up on the chest or neck but certainly not on his face. While the fan should never have been on the pitch the actions of the goalkeeper were outrageous.
I'm concerned that
UEFA might go over the top in punishing Celtic for a trivial incident, blown out of all proportion by Dida, who will hardly be able to look himself in the mirror after what he did. Much to their credit, a Milan official and Clarence Seedorf who were interviewed after the game said nothing to inflame the situation, unlike Dida. Just a pity, the people who came on to attend to him didn't tell him to get up and cut the play acting.
Waiting with baited breath now to see what happens. The response of Milan might well have a bearing on what
UEFA decide to do. The Italians have often tried to manipulate any situation to their own advantage but TV pictures clearly showed Dida was never injured and just maybe Milan will put their credibility above the actions of a player who has everybody talking about him in a highly critical way.
Anyway, the Scottish game is enjoying a good spell just now with the International team and this week in the CL so lets enjoy the moment.
