on current form i think Arsenal look pretty tastey at those odds, Sevilla still seem quite emotional and in shock since the death of Puerta and i doubt it will play very much on the Gunners consience.
Sevilla have only played one La liga game to date while the Gunners with 5 under their belt and sitting on top of the prem are looking better as each game passes.
Arsenal will want to get up and running with points on the board asap especially playing the first game at home and on Current form they will probably do it.
like the look of liverpool who rested big players on saturday (which personally i believe was a stupid decision)..should be pumped up for this and always seem to deliver the goods in europe.
Real Madrid have been in emphatic form and the way Bremen are playing i think Madrid will beat them comfortably.
Like the look of arsenal, fenerbache+1 and sp.lisbon +1 but will have to think more about it untill tuesday!
IMO Sevilla will destroy the gunners..
Might go with Milan's Kaka,
Chelsea -2 and backup CS 2-0,
Marseille,
Pool,
Roma result -1,
PSV and Inter
Though theres much to read on each of these before if any..
BOL
expect madrid to take care of bremen quite comfortably tomorrow nighta after their great start to the league coupled with bremen's poor start which culminated in a 3-0 defeat at Dortmund last friday night.
Fancy liverpool too, porto are missing some key players, postiga upfront to name one while liverpool will start a full team raring to go. Liverpool always deliver the goods on european days and lets hope they continue to do so.
Shaktar Donetsk V Celtic @5/6: Gonna go for the Donetskians here due to a combination of their excellent home record and Celtics poorish away record. Shatkar have had a great start to their domestic campaign, winning 8 and drawing 1 of theeir 1st 9 games. They are notoriusly difficult to beat at home and neither Seville nor Valencia could manage it last season. Celtic will be more than happy to come back with a point but I don't think they have it in them. They came here a few years back and got well beaten 3-0. Home win at a decent price for me.
Chelsea V Rosenborg: Chelsea to be ahead after 30 mins @10/11: Rosenborg are having a pretty poor season and the main reason for that has been their crappy away form. They've won just twice in 10 matches and lie 5th in their league. Chelsea should be far to good tonight and I reckon they can score early on and put this one to bed.
Verdict:
Shaktar @5/6
Chelsea to be leading after an hour @10/11
I dunno Chief. I can see The Celts going out there to annoy them. They dnt have the best away record in Europe but i think theyre wortha point. Interested to hear what others think.
Theyve all fcuked off Monty. Too much falling out with me. They got bored with forums as forums are so last season and are probably just enjoying the day. Well some of them.
just had a quick squint at lunch and although short prices i could be interested in.
Chelsea should beat Rosenborg. Rosenborg where thumped last time on British soil by Arsenal and cause Chelsea are a bit untidy - this should be a good game to 'kick' start their season.
Both AC Milan and Real Madrid should also record home wins. DOnt know best prices but lads go 1/7, 4/11 and 4/9 for the treble.
This works out at 5/4 and I cant really see any slip ups..............
I think Celtic are in with a big shout tonight. They are making progress in Europe and their most recent away matches against AC Milan in the last 16 last season and a few weeks ago in Moscow against Spartak ended all square with Milan scoring the decisive goal in extra time. I would suggest this form is far removed from the run of poor away results over the past 4 CL campaigns and another thing is, the teams that line up tonight will bear no resemblance to those who took the field 3 years ago.
Shaktar are good at home but surely no tougher a proposition than Spartak or AC Milan and the Ukranians have no record worth talking about on the big stage. This is a Celtic team with new faces who are doing very well and other players who have raised their game, most notably Boruc, who is now undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world and McManus who has improved beyond all expectations in the past year.
If Shaktar was such a strong bet they would be a good bit shorter than the evens which is widely available. Strachan is dead right when he says that anything other than the recent past is irrelevant and I'm confident, Celtic can get a result tonight. A draw would be fine but a win is far from out of the question. I think Celtic will be looking for goals tonight. With AC MIlan at home next followed by a trip to Lisbon to play Benfica, not the ideal run of matches, getting something on the board tonight would be a great start.

Soccer - Schachtor Donezk - spread -½ (+100)
for the regulation time held on Sep 18 at 1:45pm [pending]
Celtic managed a 1-1 draw at Moscow in the last round. I watched that game on streaming video, and they were extremely lucky not to give up an early goal taken away for offsides, a very poor call, and it really changed the way the game played out. As it was they spent the last 60 minutes getting peppered with shots and narrowly escaped. Shakhtar Donetsk is experienced in European play, and they know they need to gain wins when they can, because they won't get to the knockout round without them...and they are very solid at home domestically and in European play. Celtic managed to get to the last 16 last year playing a whole bunch of scoreless draws, but they're not strong on the road...I'll take even odds for the home team to win it.
A few stats: Shakhtar Donetsk are unbeaten in their last five Champions League home matches. In the group stages last season, Celtic lost 2-3 at Manchester Utd, 0-3 at Benfica and 1-3 at Copenhagen.

Soccer - FC Schalke/Valencia - total Over 2 (-135)
for the regulation time held on Sep 18 at 1:45pm [pending]
Schalke have a reputation as a secure defensive unit, but they have conceded a goal in every game this season (typical score: 1-1). The other teams in their group are Chelsea and Rosenborg, so everybody's going to have beat up on Rosenborg, the whipping boys, while getting some good results against the other two. As Schalke is the third best on paper, they will hope to start out group play with a win at home before travleing to Rosenborg and Chelsea. As for Valencia, they are the stronger team here and tend to win their league games by 3-0 scores. I'm thinking both will score here and the question will be which will push from there. But I think the line is friendly.

No way Komp, and no offence to any Celtic fans( I think they're a lovely club and have one of the nicest jerseys in the Champions League) but if Seville or Valencia can't get a win over there I fear for the Scots boys. Shaktar have won 7 and drawn one(against Dynamo Kiev)in their last 8 home games.
If i'm wrong I'll come back here and write down "The Chief Is A Wally Who Knows Fuck All About Anything, Especially Tuesday Night Champions League Soccer"
