Do we 'not do' UEFA cup anymore? It not good enough for us? I thought Dunfermine were playing tonight? I can see them getting another draw if they are

It would be a massive shock if Blackburn fail to progress from their UEFA Cup second qualifying round clash with MyPa on Thursday night.

The visitors are a best of 16/1 to go through with Paddy Power which is no surprise really considering they are 1-0 down after their home leg.

Having said that they proved to be a resilient outfit at the Anjalankoski Stadium two weeks ago and didn't collapse like many thought they would following Roque Santa Cruz's early strike.

In that fixture the Finnish side rarely threatened the Rovers goal and breaching their defence at Ewood Park will be an even stiffer challenge - and one we just can't see them doing.

To make matters even worse, it appeared as if Mark Hughes' side were playing a very relaxed game, almost like a training exercise, and Thursday's affair on home soil should be a walk in the park.

Rovers also head into the game in solid form, having avoided any Premier League defeats so far this season, while they'll field a strong enough side for the encounter just to make sure the job gets done.

With all this in mind a worthwhile bet would be to back Blackburn at 21/20 with bet365 to win on the Asian Handicap at a two-goal deficit.

Although there is a danger of underestimating MyPa's strength in defence, we have to remember they will get to a point where they push forward for goals, leaving themselves open for Rovers to strike.

The clash could also be an opportunity for Blackburn's exciting young prospect Matt Derbyshire to impress yet again as he tries to firmly establish himself in the first team.

Derbyshire has scored twice this season for his club and the England U-21s but has generally had to make do on the substitutes bench with Santa Cruz, Benni McCarthy and Jason Robers all tussling for the starting places up front.

But with a crucial clash Premier League with Manchester City approaching on Sunday, Hughes could rest leading duo Santa Cruz and McCarthy, making the 11/8 on Derbyshire to score anytime particularly appealing.

Re: UEFA CUP: 30th Aug

Some good betting material there:

Otelul Galati should beat Loko Sofia and odds ~2.0 are great in my eyes. Lokomotiv was the better team in the first game and won deservedly, but had very hard last minutes when Otelul's players were pressing furiously to score another goal. So in the afternoon Lokomotiv will try not to lose the game, but this will be very hard. Home team will try everything to take an early lead and score more goals after that. Lokomotiv's defence isn't the greatest and will have hard time.
I think that will be home win, but I can't say who will qulafy, it can even go to extra time and penalties.
So - Otelul to win, 4/10 Betfair and Bluesquare have the best offers.

Later some words about CSKA v Omonia

Re: UEFA CUP: 30th Aug

Well, I don't believe in conspiration theories, so I'm betting on Otelul and I do like this bet, especialy at even money.

CSKA Sofia should win against Omonia at home after 1:1 in the first game. Odds 1.50 - 1.55 for home win are fair and I'll take a bit, too. CSKA bought many new players, some of them good enough. The team still doesn't play the expected football, but Omonia should be eliminated with relative ease. Yes, Levski Sofia were surpriced very unpleasantly, when they lost from Tampere, but now it's different situation.
CSKA faced Omonia a couple of years ago. The first game in Cyprus ended 1:1and Omonia took the lead in Sofia, CSKA were lucky to equalize at the last minute. After that they prevailed in extra time. So, I think they'll try to decide things earlier tonight and not to give their guests many chances.
CSKA to win, confidence 7/10
I'm taking CSKA into following perm:
CSKA + Lens + Helsingborg + Artmedia - 3 out of 4
CSKA + Lens + Helsingborg + Artmedia + AIK 5-fold acca

At halftime Otelul - Lokomotiv 0:0. Many, many chances for goal for both teams, Otelul hit the woodwork at 36th minute
