Re: UEFA Champions League 14th and 15th August

does anyone not think Toulouse may be a bit jadded/tired after their tough win over Lyon? A big gulf in class here aswell..

Fancy the reds to march on here, away win, either 0-1 or 0-2.

Re: UEFA Champions League 14th and 15th August

Sammy - I have Spartak too. Have them in a double.

The effect of the plastic pitch can be overstated. I think Celtic will have trained on astro-turf before, with this game in mind. They will be aware of the dodgy bounce etc and how it plays.

I think Spartak will win, simply because they are a better team. Couple that with Celtic's dog rough away form in the CL too and its hard to see past them.

thats when the south americans in liverpool come into play

Re: UEFA Champions League 14th and 15th August

I'm certainly on the Spartak bandwagon for all the reasons already mentioned but I also think Celtic are basically a poor side despite the fact I think they have some good players.

Sometimes it does happen though that players who aren't really performing to their full potential suddenly go 'ping' when it's Champions League time and I wouldn't really be shocked to see Celtic grab a draw (they definitely have players who pose an attacking threat) but it doesn't seem too likely all things considered.

Bollocks. I think 1.95 for the home is the best on offer now @ Premierbet

Lets hope you are all right about Celtic, I have had my biggest bet of the season on Spartak. I really have grave doubts about Celtic and they do have a rookie keeper in goal too.

I've also backed against Celtic but have also thrown in Arsenal just for good measure

Re: UEFA Champions League 14th and 15th August

Liverpool made a great start of my bets today...1-0 FT

Also Celtic is leading 1-0 in Moscow and that is good result for me but Tampere is down 0-2 and it is small chance that will make come back into game...

1-1 in the Celtic game and the momentum is surely with the home side now. Gonna be a cracking second half.

The Russians (or should that be Brazilians) are diving all over the place. Ref has been pretty wise to it so far but Celtic are beginning to do their nut. Can see this being settled from a very dodgy free kick award.

Re: UEFA Champions League 14th and 15th August

I am working long hours, so its maybe to late, but stiil one hour to go.

I see there value in Dinamo Zagreb in Bremen tonight. Yes I am big Dinamo fan and maybe am not most objective regarding this game.
But got feeling that we can see huge surprise tonight. Werder was never weaker and one hard season is expected. They sold Klose who is imo one of the best players Germany have produced in long time. Already last year they drove with thin squad. For this game they are missing hard and soul of their game Frings. He is such hard worker and I always like to back against Werder when Frings is not playing. There are also bunch of other doubtfulls for tonight game, but replaceble.

Dinamo never was stronger than now. OK end of teh last season they were stronger, but sold Corluka to MAn.City(best man they had) and Eduardo to Arsenal.
But there are still plenty of young talented players, which are in great condition and playing with heart. New strikers are Balaban(from Brügge) who is tipical village boy and will never have great season, but can produce few good games when needed. Other striker new Sokota is also expirienced(played his best for Benfica) few years ago and for sure could be coldbladed and hit the net if the oportunity occure.
Midfield is the best part of Dinamo's team, With Modric, Sammir and Eto(Brazil),Guela (White Cost-fucking fast),Vukojevic.
Defence without Corluka is the weakest part and is realy leaking. new Goalman Koch from Germany on his day can produce wonder.
The Difference from past 5-6 years is that Dinamo now can run 90 minutes. That was their major problem why they didnt make anything in Europe.

All in all Weder is weder and is better team than Dinamo, but odds of 8,50 on Dinamo are pure gift in my eyes. OK maybe I aint objective, but I go for Dinamo win.#

for those which like more sure bets, over is writen all over this game.

Every chance I'd say. Cracking result from Celtic last night. Gers way too negative at home on Tuesday, should've went for it from the off and killed the tie against one of the dirtiest (albeit well organised) teams I've seen for many a long year. Hope old Walter doesn't try to sit on the lead in 2 weeks time or we could be in trouble.
